	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/03/2014 answer text <p>[holding answer 20 March 2014]</p><p>The Department did not provide specific funding for staff to carry out trade union activities in 2011, 2012 or 2013.</p><p> </p><p>Information on the amount of paid time spent on trade union activities by staff who are union representatives has only been centrally recorded since November 2012. Between November 2012 and September 2013 our central records show that 1,345 paid days were spent by union representatives on such activities. These central records are based on returns submitted by union representatives to account for the time they have spent on their union roles. Information on the amount of paid time spent on trade union activities prior to November 2012 could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.</p><p> </p><p>Since October 2013 the Department has not permitted members of staff elected as union representatives to be granted paid facility time for any trade union activities and in future will only grant paid facility time for such activities in exceptional circumstances and with approval from the Secretary of State. Assisted Voluntary Return is only available to non-EEA nationals <br>and the support is not dependent upon whether the individual has arrived from <br>inside or outside the EU.<br><br>The figures provided are sourced from a Home Office management information <br>system which is not quality assured under National Statistics protocols and is <br>subject to change due to internal data quality checking. This has led to 39,216 additional homes and businesses now being able to access superfast broadband as a result of the local project, with the aim to have 42,204 additional premises by the end of the project. This will bring superfast coverage in Merseyside to 99% of premises.</p><p> </p><p>The Department does not hold data specifically for businesses. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/12/2017 answer text <p>On 14 December, Disney and the 21st Century Fox announced details of an agreement for the sale of 21st Century Fox to Disney. This includes its interests in two major UK Media companies Sky PLC and Endemol/Shine. 21st Century Fox currently remains as the bidder for Sky PLC and Disney and 21st Century Fox confirmed in their joint announcement that they want the 21st Century Fox bid for Sky - announced in December 2016 – to continue. The current Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) inquiry into the Fox/Sky merger will therefore continue.</p><p>The CMA are of course fully aware of the Disney bid and it is for them to consider how to account for this development in their inquiry. The CMA are due to publish their interim findings on the merger in mid-January and provide their final report by 6 March. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/09/2015 answer text <p>The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) provides the Home Office with monthly updates on performance. Latest figures (relating to July 2015) show that the average processing time for disclosure applications was 14.3 days. The DBS operates to a target to issue 95% of disclosure certificates within 56 days (8 weeks) and in July 95.2% were issued within this time.</p><p>DBS funding for police disclosure units in 2013-14 and 2014-15 is set out in the <del class="ministerial">attached table.</del> <ins class="ministerial">attached table.</ins> Decisions on the operational deployment of resources, including vacancy filling, are matters for Chief Constables in association with Police and Crime Commissioners.</p><p>The DBS is working closely with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to help reduce the time taken to process disclosure checks for all applicants including taxi drivers in London.
