	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/08/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>We do not hold central information on the number of audits commissioned or auditing steps taken regarding publically funded projects, as these would be a matter for individual contracting authorities to commission.</p><p> </p><p>All suppliers are required to comply with UK law, including relevant human rights and employment rights law. Social, environmental and ethical issues are taken into account in the procurement process, where relevant and proportionate.</p><p> </p><p>In particular, EU procurement rules require contracting authorities to exclude suppliers that have been convicted of certain offences, and allow authorities to exclude suppliers for grave professional misconduct. Partnerships between business and civil society are vital if we are to eradicate modern slavery, and this project has the potential to make it easier for people to report suspected cases of modern slavery.</p><p>Over the past two years, the Government's modern slavery reforms have resulted in record high numbers of victim referrals and of prosecutions and convictions for slavery-related offences. The total cost of the partnership with The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph is £125,000. We are unable to give costs of constituent parts of the partnership, including the website, because of commercial confidentiality. <br>b) The Home Office has allocated a communications campaign budget of £2.3 million to raise awareness of Modern Slavery in the UK.<br>c) The Home Office has spent £44,000 on the Modern Slavery website. They must also include a link to the slavery and human trafficking statement in a prominent place on their website’s homepage. <br><br>Where a business uncovers slavery or trafficking in their supply chains they will be encouraged to report their concerns or findings to the relevant authorities in that jurisdiction. The campaign included a TV advert supported by digital and video advertising. National press partnership <br>activity was then used to explain the issue in greater depth, including the signs of slavery to look out for, to raise awareness and encourage reporting. A website was developed to provide further information on the issue and provide <br>another means of reporting, in addition to a new helpline. <br><br>Another strand of the campaign targets employers in the small and medium sized enterprise sectors in which slavery has been reported, including construction and hospitality to remind them of their responsibility to ensure they are not <br>employing slavery labour directly or indirectly. Activity includes trade press, online and email advertising. <br><br>Local activity will also run as a pilot in Bradford, targeting victims and affected communities of modern slavery with advice on recognising and reporting slavery. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/01/2015 answer text <p>Data showing the number of police investigations for modern slavery in 2014 is not yet available. The National Policing Lead for modern slavery, Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer, is currently developing the approach to improving the management of modern slavery related data across all 43 police forces in England and Wales. These improvements in managing modern slavery data will result in greater cohesion across policing, which in turn will improve our strategic understanding and operational responses.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, modern slavery offences have been added to the Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR) for the first time. The HOCR provides guidance to police forces about how crime reported to the police should be recorded, meaning that from 1st April 2015 all modern slavery crimes reported to the police will be properly recorded.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has introduced a new statutory role, the Independent Anti-slavery Commissioner, responsible for improving awareness and detection by law enforcement, as well as working with partners to increase the number of successful prosecutions of the perpetrators of modern slavery.
