City Deals were bespoke negotiations between Government and Local Enterprise Partnerships
conducted in England between 2011 and 2014. The only area at this time to have a Combined
Authority in place was Greater Manchester, although Liverpool City Region, Sheffield
City Region, North East, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire Combined Authorities were
all established in 2014. City Deals aimed to help drive the growth of cities across
the country: identifying barriers to growth and also investing to drive future economic
growth on the basis of the specific economic strengths, assets and opportunities of
places.

A list of all English City Deals and their relevant Local Enterprise
