	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2017 answer text <p>The Government protected overall police spending in the 2015 Spending Review, and the 2017/18 police funding settlement maintains that commitment. The Greater Manchester Mayor’s direct resource funding for his Police &amp; Crime Commissioner functions (including council tax precept) is £545.4 million in 2017/18, an increase of £4.2 million on funding levels for 2015/16.</p><p>It is a matter for Chief Constables, working with their Police and Crime Commissioners, to manage their available resources according to local priorities.
