We do not comprehensively record asset values as a matter of course and therefore are unable to provide the total book value. Rates payable information is only collected against individual properties for the benchmarked office estate. For the 149 benchmarked offices over 500m<sup>2</sup> in the central civil estate in the London region, net rates totalling £121.3 million were payable in 2017/18.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>e-PIMS is a comprehensive electronic register of all central government property holdings, including information about requirements for new accommodation, and vacant and surplus properties. Bodies are responsible for entering complete and accurate information about all the properties they use and control on e-PIMS, and complete an annual verification process to confirm they have done this. Regular data quality assurance and sample checks are also carried out by the Office of Government Property.</p><p>Providing property information is mandatory for all:</p><p>- government departments</p><p>- non-ministerial departments and their executive agencies</p><p>- arms length bodies</p><p>- non-departmental public bodies</p><p>- special health authorities</p><p>Mandatory recording of information on e-PIMS does not apply to local authorities, the NHS (except for Special Health Authorities), public corporations, privatised railway undertakings, the Crown Estate; the Overseas estate or the Defence Estate (subject to some exceptions).</p><p>There are some other exclusions from e-PIMS, such as information about certain highly specialist properties (e.g. flood defences, pipelines, wayleaves and easements).</p>

Carers are, however, entitled to apply for paid <a href="http://intranet.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/how-do-i/hr-code/chapter-3-time-off/3-7-special-leave/special-leave-policy/" target="_blank">special leave</a> and/or unpaid<a href="http://intranet.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/how-do-i/hr-code/chapter-3-time-off/3-9-career-break-policy/" target="_blank"> career breaks</a> as set out the special leave policy and can access support and counselling through our <a href="http://intranet.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/task/counselling-and-support/" target="_blank">Employee Assistance Programme</a>.</p><p> </p><p>Cabinet Office recognises the importance of supporting carers in the workplace, and has recently signed up to a 3rd year of membership to <a href="http://www.employersforcarers.org/" target="_blank">Employers for Carers</a>, a website enabling employees to access online tools, training and support, backed up by specialist knowledge from Carers UK - Cabinet Office <a href="http://intranet.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/news/charity-of-the-year-2015-and-the-winner-is/" target="_blank">Charity of the Year</a> in 2015.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, we have also established a Carer’s Network, championed at a senior level, with the aim of providing support and advice to employees with caring responsibilities. We encourage<a href="http://intranet.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/blog/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-carer/" target="_blank"> blog posts</a> to raise awareness of carers in the workplace, actively promote initiatives such as <a href="http://intranet.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/news/get-involved-and-pledge-your-support-during-national-carers-week-12-to-18-june-2017/" target="_blank">Carer’s Week</a>, and <a href="https://www.foryoubyyou.org.uk/" target="_blank">The Charity for Civil Servants</a> also offers an advisory service to Carers within the Civil Service.</p>
