The new requirements will provide unprecedented transparency, generate wider debate and encourage employers to take the action required to close the gap.</li><li>Since April 2017 departments are required to publish data on the following:</li></ul><p><strong>o </strong><strong>Gender pay gap (mean and median averages)</strong></p><p><strong>o </strong><strong>Gender bonus gap (mean and median averages)</strong></p><p><strong>o </strong><strong>Proportion of men and women receiving bonuses</strong></p><p><strong>o </strong><strong>Proportion of men and women in each quartile of the organisation’s pay structure</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><ul><li><strong>Building a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the people we serve is one of the Civil Service’s top workforce priorities. Its collective aim is to make the Civil Service the UK’s most inclusive employer by 2020. Its new Diversity &amp; Inclusion Strategy outlines how it plans to achieve this. The Civil Service should create opportunities for all in a truly meritocratic way and reward all civil servants fairly, regardless of gender, ethnicity or any other personal characteristic.</strong></li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>The Treasury is committed to fairness. We have already made improvements to our pay system to shorten pay ranges and thereby improve internal equity. The EIB invests across a range of sectors including energy, transport, housing, education, water and sewerage.</p><p> </p><p>For the green industry, the EIBs largest and most frequent loans over the last decade have been in the field of renewable energy generation, more specifically; offshore wind farms and offshore transmission networks <em>(through OFGEMs offshore transmission network tendering process).</em></p><p> </p><p>From 2006-2016 the EIB lent €15.69bn to the UK energy sector. This will give investors in UK oil and gas fields certainty that they will be able to get tax relief for decommissioning assets. This should encourage new investment in older oil and gas fields, keeping them producing for longer and supporting employment.</p><p> </p><p>The main industry body, Oil and Gas UK, in response to the Budget announcement have said that a Transferable Tax History would be <em>‘a vital step that can bring in new investment to increase recovery from existing fields and fund fresh investment which is key to generating activity for our hard-pressed supply chain. It will also help extend the lives of many mature fields and postpone decommissioning.’</em></p><p> </p><p>This builds on the £2.3bn of fiscal support the government has already provided to the UK oil and gas industry, including a package of tax cuts across Budget 2015 and 2016, £40m of funding for seismic surveys to support exploration, and the introduction of a new Investment Allowance.
