star this property answer text <p>Tackling domestic abuse is a key priority for this Government.</p><p>The Office for National Statistics has ascribed national increases in police recorded violent crime to improvements in police recording.</p><p>The Government is providing £10 million to fund specialist domestic and sexual violence services and national helplines up to April 2016, including part-funding to 23 Independent Domestic Violence Advocates and eight Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Coordinators in London. New guidance for the police has been published by the College of Policing, new training has been piloted and for the first time police are collating domestic violence data against a national standard.</p><p>The Government recognises that local areas are best placed to meet local need.</p> more like this

As was the case with previous administrations, it is not the Government's practice to provide details of all such meetings or visits.</p><p>Following a request from PSNI, the National Crime Agency has confirmed that it has agreed to lead the investigation, with support from PSNI as required, into the sale of Northern Ireland assets owned by the Republic of Ireland's National Assets Management Agency.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Ben Emmerson QC was appointed on 5 September 2014 as Counsel to the Independent Panel Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. On Thursday 12 March 2015, the Inquiry was set up with statutory powers under the 2005 Inquiries Act. Ben Emmerson QC has remained as Counsel to the statutory Inquiry.</p><p>From 5 September 2014 to 31 March 2015, payments to Mr Emmerson accounted to £177,480 including VAT.</p><p>He is employed on standard terms of appointment. His remuneration is £1,700 per full day and £850 per half day and he is expected to be available to advise the Inquiry for up to 4 days a week.</p><p>The Independent Inquiry is now responsible for publishing its costs on a regular basis.</p> more like this

Latest figures (relating to July 2015) show that the average processing time for disclosure applications was 14.3 days. The DBS operates to a target to issue 95% of disclosure certificates within 56 days (8 weeks) and in July 95.2% were issued within this time.</p><p>DBS funding for police disclosure units in 2013-14 and 2014-15 is set out in the attached table. Decisions on the operational deployment of resources, including vacancy filling, are matters for Chief Constables in association with Police and Crime Commissioners.</p><p>The DBS is working closely with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to help reduce the time taken to process disclosure checks for all applicants including taxi drivers in London. The MPS has established a Gold Group, which includes DBS representation, to develop and implement a plan to improve MPS disclosure turnaround times.</p> more like this
