	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2017 answer text <p>Nabiximols (Sativex) is licensed in the United Kingdom for the treatment of moderate to severe spasticity in multiple sclerosis. The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) did not recommended nabiximols in its 2014 clinical guidelines as it is not a cost-effective treatment.</p><p> </p><p>NICE develops authoritative, evidence-based guidance on best practice for the National Health Service. NICE operates with a high degree of independence from the Government and is responsible for the recommendations that it makes to the NHS. Its guidance is based on a thorough assessment of the available evidence and is developed through engagement with stakeholders.</p><p> </p><p>However, where there is an absence of final guidance recommendations from NICE, decisions on the funding of a licensed treatment on the NHS are taken by the relevant clinician and commissioner (such as NHS England or individual clinical commissioning groups) based on the individual needs of the patient.</p> answering member constituency Winchester answering member printed Steve Brine question first answered 12/10/2017 14:33:45 answering member 4067 label Biography information for Steve Brine

	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many (a) primary and (b) secondary pupils are receiving tutoring or academic mentoring from National Tutoring Programme tuition partners.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/01/2022 answer text <p>The national tutoring programme aims to deliver up to 2 million tuition courses this year, and up to 90 million tuition hours by the 2024/25 academic year across the programme’s 3 pillars.</p><p>The programme is currently on course to deliver its objectives. Schools know their pupils best and have the freedom to enrol those who will benefit most. So far, an estimated 230,000 courses have been started by pupils through the school-led tutoring pillar, an estimated 20,000 with academic mentors and an estimated 52,000 with tuition partners.
