	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/11/2018 answer text <p>We are fully focussed on bringing an end to hostilities in Yemen to address the worsening humanitarian crisis and build a lasting political solution. Diplomacy and negotiation remain the only path to ending the conflict.</p><p>The indications are that both sides will come to Stockholm in the coming days for meaningful talks hosted by the UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths. We encourage both sides to engage constructively and in good faith to overcome obstacles and find a political solution to end the conflict.</p><p>A UN Security Council resolution is one of the means we are pursuing in order to achieve a lasting political and humanitarian solution. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/11/2018 answer text <p>We take reports of alleged violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) by actors in the conflict very seriously. We regularly raise the importance of compliance with IHL with the Saudi Arabian Government and other members of the Coalition. The Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) is the Coalition mechanism for investigating allegations of IHL violations. On Monday 12 November, the Foreign Secretary held constructive talks with the senior leadership of Saudi Arabia addressing the importance of respect for IHL, and the need for an urgent end to the conflict in Yemen, and a swift improvement in the dire humanitarian situation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/10/2019 answer text <p>A nationwide ceasefire will only have an effect on the ground if it is underpinned by a political deal between the conflict parties. The UK has played a leading role in diplomatic efforts to find a peaceful solution. On 26 September, the UK co-hosted a political event at the UN General Assembly to coordinate the international community’s support for the UN-led peace process and endorse the UN Special Envoy’s plan to begin wider political discussion.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has used its role as penholder at the UN Security Council to help push the Yemen peace process forward. UK-proposed Resolutions 2451 and 2452 were unanimously adopted by the Security Council in December 2018 and January 2019, respectively. We have issued both P5 and UNSC statements this year, urging the parties to implement the Stockholm agreements and reiterating members’ support for the work of Martin Griffiths. It is for the UN Special Envoy, Martin Griffiths, to determine the best route to such an inclusive political settlement, including whether, when and how to involve representatives of the South, political parties, tribes, women, youth and civil society. We fully support the efforts of the Special Envoy in this regard.
