unstar this property answer text <p>Under the planned changes to HM Passport Offices <ins class="ministerial">the vast majority of passport application interviewees will see no change to their travel time. In a small number of cases passport application interviewees will have to travel further but this should not be more than 65 miles or one and a half hours from their previous closest office.</ins> <del class="ministerial">no customer will need to travel for more than either one and a half hours or 65 miles and the vast majority of passport application interviewees will see no change to their travel time.</del> The decision to deliver greater value for money by reducing surplus capacity for interviews was clear, therefore public consultation on the changes was not applicable.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The decision regarding the changes to the passport application interview estate was taken on 21 December 2015.</p><p>Affected staff, and their trade union representatives, were informed of this decision on 28 January 2016. This launched a formal period of consultation about the impact upon staff following the changes to the passport application interview estate. This consultation is ongoing.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Sites which host flexible interview teams are operated by Her Majesty’s Passport Office as managed office space. Rental agreements vary, but most require one month notice.</p><p>In Blackburn, Bristol, Crawley, Leicester and Sheffield HM Passport Office holds a licence to occupy the premises until September 2018, with an opportunity to break the licence in September 2016.</p><p>A date to cease interviewing in March 2016 has been set to enable staff to work with the Home Office career transition service and focus on finding alternative employment prior to the offices being decommissioned.</p> more like this
