unstar this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">Those</del> <ins class="ministerial">Some </ins>Overseas Territories with financial centres, namely Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands<del class="ministerial">, Gibraltar</del> and Montserrat have expressed concern about new legislation on sanctions and anti-money laundering (the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act), which became law on 23 May 2018; in particular the requirement to establish a publicly accessible register of the beneficial ownership of companies registered in each government's jurisdiction.</p><p><ins class="ministerial">Seperately, the aforementioned Territories and Gibraltar have made representations over the potential use of an Order in Council as specified in the Act, believing this to be constitutional overreach by the UK.</ins></p><p>The Prime Minister held a conference call with leaders of affected Territories on 24 May to discuss the issue and a further discussion was held at the Joint Ministerial Council in June. Shortly after the passage of this legislation I visited Anguilla, the Cayman Islands and Montserrat, where I held discussions on this topic. Similarly, in late July I visited the British Virgin Islands and met with representatives of the financial services industry and government of BVI. The Government understands the strength of feeling on this issue and is committed to working collaboratively with affected Territories on implementation.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>Information on prison staffing levels can be found at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/her-majestys-prison-and-probation-service-workforce-quarterly-march-2018" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/her-majestys-prison-and-probation-service-workforce-quarterly-march-2018</a>.</p><p> </p><p>At the end of March 2018, 21,041 FTE prison officers were in post; representing increases of 2,638 (14.3%) compared to 31 March 2017 and 1,116 (5.6%) since 31 December 2017.</p><p> </p><p>This is the highest number of officers in post since 31 May 2013. Over the previous year, 5,244 Band 3 officers were appointed; representing an increase of 125.8% compared to the 12 months to 31 March 2017.</p><p> </p><p>Our recruitment drive continues and will continue until we reach required levels across the prison estate, which is vital to ensuring prisons are safe, secure and decent.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service holds data showing failure-to appear rates of defendants mapped against the number of courts and tribunals that have closed in each year. There was no significant increase in failure to attend warrants being issued as a proportion of hearings following the large closure programme of 2011/12.</p><p> </p><p>HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service acknowledges the impact that court closure may have on staff and when implementing a court closure support is offered to staff members in discussing relocation options with them. More broadly, staff morale is monitored annually through the HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service People Survey.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>In January 2018, HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service published its <em>Fit for the future: transforming the Court and Tribunal estate </em>consultation, outlining proposals for its future strategy and approach to the court and tribunal estate in the context of the over £1 billion programme of modernisation currently underway across HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service.</p><p> </p><p>Access to justice, of which proximity to courts and tribunals is one factor, was referred to in the consultation, which closed on 29 March 2018. unstar this property answer text <p>The written consent of all persons with parental responsibility must be obtained in order to remove a child from the United Kingdom. Where a child arrangements order requires a child to live with a named person, and consent for removal is not given, the court can be asked for permission under section 13 of the Children Act 1989. Where there is no such child arrangements order in force, the court can be asked to decide about the child’s removal through a specific issue order made under section 8 of the 1989 Act.</p><p> </p><p>In either situation, the court may ask Cafcass to prepare a Section 7 welfare report about the child’s welfare needs and family circumstances. Cafcass does not record data on the number of Section 7 reports requested by the court by reference to the type of application made.
