	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2019 answer text <p>The English Heritage blue plaque scheme, which is limited to London, links the people of the past with the buildings of the present. The scheme is managed by English Heritage and follows guidance set out by them.</p><p> </p><p>However, there are many other plaque schemes throughout the country in various cities and towns. More than seventy civic societies have worked together to standardise the schemes and each of these has a set of guidance for assessment. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/03/2019 answer text <p>DCMS officials were in regular contact with the European Commission throughout 2016 and 2017 about the European Capital of Culture competition, and were notified of the European Commission's decision to discontinue the UK’s eligibility in the competition for the next round (2020-2033).</p><p> </p><p>The UK is seeking an ambitious agreement on cultural cooperation with the EU as part of our future partnership as set out in the Political Declaration. The UK is continuing to explore participation in the successor to Creative Europe, which includes the European Capital of Culture Competition. This supports the Government’s Air Quality Plan for Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) in UK (2017), which established the Government’s commitment to improve air quality on the Strategic Road Network (SRN).</p><p> </p><p>Highways England’s Delivery Plan 2018-2019, published in July 2018, provides an update on progress and this year’s Delivery Plan with a further update will be published this summer.</p><p> </p><p>Highways England have agreed with the Department for Transport a programme of work to assess and deliver improvements in air quality on the SRN, with a focus on 101 SRN road links which have been identified by Government’s Pollution Climate Mapping (PCM) model as exceeding NO2 limit values.</p><p> </p><p>Highways England are analysing these road links through their programme of work to identify what measures can be implemented to deliver compliance as quickly as possible.
