star this property answer text <p>The Government announced its intention to bring forward a Data Protection Bill in the Queen's Speech on 21st June. Amongst other legislative changes, the Bill will introduce measures which will strengthen rights and empower individuals to have more control over their personal data including a right to be forgotten when individuals no longer want their data to be processed, provided that there are no legitimate grounds for retaining it.</p> more like this

Organisations that process personal data and use it to make marketing communications are regulated by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). DCMS is working with industry to ensure consumers have this access, as set out in the UK Digital Strategy.</p><p> </p><p>Many large corporates pledged practical support in the Strategy, which was launched by the Secretary of State in March this year.
