star this property answer text <p> </p><p>Charity Commission guidance makes clear that charities must never engage in any party political activity, and that it is for charity trustees to ensure that their charity does not engage in any party political activity. </p><p> </p><p>Where a charity's trustees fail to do this it is for the Charity Commission for England and Wales to investigate and take proportionate action. Depending on the circumstances, the Charity Commission's response could range from seeking assurances from the trustees, through to removing and replacing the charity's trustees.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Admission authorities for all state-funded schools, including schools with a religious designation, are required to comply with the mandatory provisions of the School Admissions Code and other admissions law.</p><p>Where an objection is made to the Schools Adjudicator, if the arrangements are found to be unfair or fail to comply with the Code, the admission authority must make changes to ensure their arrangements are compliant without undue delay. Where an admission authority fails to implement decisions of the adjudicator, the Secretary of State may direct the admission authority to do so.</p><p>We continue to keep the Code under review, and, where we consider any changes are necessary to make the admissions system work more effectively for parents, these will be subject to a full public consultation.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are unable to comment on individual cases.</p><p> </p><p>We announced plans to reform Companies House in September 2020, and in 2021 we consulted on more detailed aspects of the reforms, and we will respond soon. The Government’s plans will deliver significant improvements to the integrity of the UK’s register of companies and assist greatly in the fight against economic crime.</p><p> </p><p>When parliamentary time allows, the Government intends to bring forward legislation to give the Registrar greater powers to check information before it is registered and to verify the identity of directors, People with Significant Control and those filing on behalf of a company.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Beyond the UK Government facilitating and supporting the recent intensive negotiations, including responding to requests for information from the parties, it did not provide any resources to either the DUP or Sinn Féin.</p><p> </p><p>The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland or representatives of the UK Government were not present at the private political discussions between the DUP and Sinn Féin. I provided the House with an update on the Talks on the 20 February and would refer the Noble Lord to that statement. It would not be appropriate to comment further on those discussions or any draft agreement.</p><p> </p><p>The parties had access to the services of the Office of the Legislative Counsel at Stormont during the course of the discussions.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department for International Trade’s Trade Policy Group (TPG) has a strong core of trade policy officials which has significantly grown from 45 to 723 (excluding the Export Control Joint Unit and Trade Remedies Investigations Directorate) since 2016. In TPG, we have dedicated teams in charge of coordinating each of our new free trade agreement negotiations, including the US, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. We have 3 Chief Negotiators and 3 Deputy Chief Negotiators currently, as well as the Government’s Chief Trade Negotiation Advisor.</p><p> </p><p>Trade negotiations will be progressed by teams of differing sizes depending on their complexity and the Department also works closely with experts in other Departments.</p> more like this
