star this property answer text <ol><li><p>The Sovereign has received no direct benefit from bona vacantia since 1988. The Privy purse benefited by £339k in 1984/85, £468k in 1985/86, £418k in 1986/87 and £497k in 1987/88.</p></li></ol><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Since 1988 proceeds from bona vacantia have been used to pay late claims and the balance has been divided between three charities established to receive these funds which are the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund (supporting charities within the County Palatine or where the Duchy has landed or historical interests in England and Wales), the Jubilee Trust (which supports The Queen's Chapel of the Savoy and other heritage buildings owned by the Duchy) and the Duke of Lancaster Housing Trust (which provides rural affordable housing).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>b). The Duchy has not kept a record of any specific bequests in favour of the Duchy in the course of the last 30 years. If such a bequest were to be received, and in the absence of specific conditions attached to it, it is highly likely that the funds would be transferred to one of these Duchy charities.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p><strong>National Savings and Investments (NS&amp;I) is a UK institution, operating from a number of sites within the UK and abroad. </strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>The powers governing NS&amp;I products come from UK primary and secondary legislation. Only individuals with a UK bank account are eligible to buy NS&amp;I products. In the event of independence, the current rules would prohibit individuals with only a Scottish bank account from buying NS&amp;I products. </strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Any changes to these rules would depend on negotiations between the UK and Scottish governments in the event of independence. Both governments have said that there can be no pre-negotiations on what the terms of independence might be before the referendum takes place.</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>The UK government believes that Scotland is better off as part of the UK, and the UK is better off with Scotland in it.</strong></p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p><strong>The 2011 Government Construction Strategy set a target that all publicly procured construction will require fully collaborative 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) (with all project and asset information, documentation and data being electronic) as a minimum by 2016.</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Infrastructure UK is working closely with the government and industry groups implementing BIM on new projects. Early adopter projects include the Ministry of Justice Cookham Wood Young Offenders Institute which has demonstrated an overall saving of around 20% with BIM as part of suite of efficiency measures deployed on the design and construction of the project. (A case study from Cookham Wood is attached to this response). </strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Major projects and clients are now implementing BIM on new infrastructure projects. It is still too early to draw conclusive evidence of whole life benefits. However High Speed 2 has made a specific commitment to deploy BIM and the Highways Agency are piloting BIM on the new A556 trunk road project from which evidence of benefits will be collated.</strong></p><p> </p>
