We have met a range of organisations, including trade unions, charities, faith groups, academia and consumer bodies.</p><p>With the negotiations underway, we will continue to engage widely and intensively. star this property answer text <p>The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) is primarily focused on issues of Transatlantic security. However, the UK was keen to encourage broader participation at the Summit.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Allied Heads of State and Government met with 27 partner countries including International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) contributors (Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, El Salvador, Finland, Georgia, Ireland, Jordan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Montenegro, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Sweden, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Tonga, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates), countries from the region (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan) as well as Japan. High level representatives of the United Nations and the European Union also attended.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>NATO agreed that its partner countries which cooperate with NATO on interoperability should also be invited. As well as countries included above, the Republic of Moldova, Morocco, Serbia, and Switzerland also attended the Summit.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>Over 150 representatives attended the UK and UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) meeting held on 19 October in London on international support for a new Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA). 36 women accepted the invitation to attend the meeting, drawn from 40 countries, UN Agencies, and international bodies. The UK recognises that female participation in politics and civil society is an essential component of restoring stability in Libya, and our Libya Office in Tunis, working closely with UNSMIL, made a particular effort to ensure female Libyan participation. Four of the 17 independent Libyan delegates were women. The meeting was co-chaired by Jane Marriott, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Directorate in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>On 28-29 October, the UK hosted the fourth meeting of the Global Coalition’s Communications Working Group, along with our Coalition Co-Chairs, the United Arab Emirates and the US. Ministers and senior officials from 32 Coalition countries participated. 149 delegates were involved in the meeting over the two days, of whom 43 were women.</p><p>The meeting focused on digital communications and what more coalition governments could do, in partnership with civil society and digital industry, to promote positive voices and to ensure those promoting extremism and violent extremism online were not left unchallenged.</p><p>The meeting agreed that highlighting women’s voices was a key part of the Coalition’s response to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s propaganda.</p> more like this
