The Department is currently appealing this judgment, and as such will await the outcome of that process before taking any further action.</p><p> </p><p>Universal Credit takes earnings into account in a way that is fair and transparent. The amount of Universal Credit paid reflects, as closely as possible, the actual circumstances of a household during each monthly assessment period, including any earnings reported by the employer during the assessment period, regardless of when they were paid, or which month they relate to.</p><p> </p><p>Assessment periods allow for Universal Credit awards to be adjusted on a monthly basis, ensuring that if claimants’ incomes fall, they do not have to wait several months for a rise in their Universal Credit award.</p><p> </p><p>Claimants can discuss queries about how fluctuating income affects Universal Credit with their case managers and work coaches, who can also signpost to services appropriate to individual circumstances.</p> answering member constituency Reading West answering member printed Alok Sharma question first answered 24/06/2019 16:12:38 answering member 4014 label Biography information for Lord Sharma

Newspaper advertising contributes to our routine communications activity that has been running alongside the rollout of Universal Credit since 2013.</p><p> </p><p>The Universal Credit Uncovered media partnership with the Metro is currently underway and running for a further six weeks so we are unable to provide accurate spend to date figures for the partnership. However, we can commit to publish final full spend on the partnership at the end of July once all activity has concluded.</p><p> </p><p>The information used for the partnership was sourced by DWP officials. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/01/2019 answer text <p>Based on our internal data for March 2018, in total 28 per cent of claims do not complete the process.</p><p>Of this figure around 8 per cent of claims were closed due to non-entitlement, for example because of capital or not passing the Habitual Residence Test. If a local authority building owner considers a building to be unsafe, they will need to determine what measures are essential to make a building safe, based on expert advice and taking into account any recommendations or advice from the local fire and rescue service.</p><p>Local authorities should draw on existing resources to implement these measures. However, we will consider the removal of financial restrictions for local authorities where these stand in the way of essential work being done.</p><p>36 local authorities have contacted the Department regarding work to ensure fire safety in tower blocks. We have asked 9 of these authorities to provide more detailed information about essential works.
