	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/01/2020 answer text <p>Last year the government announced its intention to review how online advertising is regulated in the UK, looking at how well the current regime is equipped to tackle the challenges posed by developments in online advertising. <del class="ministerial">The interim report can be found here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/cma-lifts-the-lid-on-digital-giants" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/news/cma-lifts-the-lid-on-digital-giants</a>.</del> <ins class="ministerial">The announcement can be found here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/jeremy-wrights-statement-on-the-cairncross-review" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/jeremy-wrights-statement-on-the-cairncross-review</a>.</ins></p><p> </p><p>Currently, advertising in the UK is overseen by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the industry’s independent regulator, which for online advertising enforces the Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct &amp; Promotional Marketing (CAP Code) through a system of self-regulation. The CAP Code incorporates all relevant legislation, including consumer protection legislation, and sets standards for accuracy and honesty to which advertisers must adhere. This system operates independently of government.</p><p> </p><p>The remit of the ASA extends to the online promotion of products by celebrities, if the celebrity has been paid (including payment in kind) by an advertiser, and the advertiser exerts some form of editorial control over the resulting content. To guarantee compliance with the CAP Code in such cases, advertisers must ensure that endorsements are genuine, claims are accurate and advertising is clearly identified as such. The products themselves must also adhere to relevant regulation and standards.</p><p> </p><p>If the advertiser does not exert some form of editorial control over the resulting content, consumer protection legislation still applies and is enforced instead by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The CMA works closely with the ASA in this area, and expects such content to clearly identify any commercial relationship and to have regard to the CAP Code.</p><p> </p><p>The Competition and Markets Authority recently investigated social media endorsements by influencers / celebrities to ensure that they were being clear to their followers, resulting in influencers / celebrities changing their practices. Rugby League is a fantastic example of how sport and physical activity can play a leading role in engaging people from every background.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s <em>Sporting Future</em> strategy is explicit <del class="ministerial">that</del> that everyone, regardless of background, sex, age or level of ability should be able to engage in sport and physical activity as participants, spectators and in the workplace, and that sport and physical activity should be valued for the much broader positive impact it can have across a range of physical, social and economic outcomes. Events listed in Group B may have live coverage on subscription television provided that secondary coverage is offered to qualifying broadcasters.</p><p> </p><p>Coverage of women’s professional sport on free to air television has improved significantly in the last ten years, with the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Euro Championships, Women’s Rugby World Cup, cycling and tennis being regular fixtures on the BBC and ITV.</p><p> </p><p>We know that more can be done to improve equality in sports broadcasting. That is why we have just announced our proposal to add the Paralympic Games to the list and we have started the statutory consultation process to do that. We are also considering the addition of women’s only sporting events where the equivalent men’s only tournaments are currently listed, which we plan to consult on later in the year. As set out in the Online Harms White Paper the government will take action to tackle content or activity that harms users, particularly children.</p><p> </p><p>Companies will be required to take robust action to address harmful content, including self-harm content which encourages eating disorders. However, such was the pace of change in the shipbuilding industry that few structures survived. Doxford Gate sits in the path of a new inner ring road which will link the city centre to a new bridge across the River Wear. The site has been considered for statutory protection by listing, but it does not meet the national criteria. Working with VisitBritain, we aim to improve the sharing of good practice across the sector, continue to provide excellent business support and promote our accessible tourism product.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, the Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work has appointed a number of Sector Champions including Champions for Art and Culture, Hotels, Tourism and Countryside and Heritage. These champions use their influential status as leaders within their sectors to drive improvements to the accessibility and quality of services and facilities for disabled people. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/08/2019 answer text <p>The museum sector in England is vibrant and dynamic, and has an impact on a wide variety of social outcomes including education, health and wellbeing, community cohesion and social inclusion. Independent museums are an important and successful part of the museums sector: around half of the museums accredited by Arts Council England are independent. In addition, the Association of Independent Museums estimates that they are visited by over 9 million people annually.</p><p> </p><p>Over the last ten years, museums have received over £800m annually from public sources. DCMS supports museums through Arts Council England, the museum sector development agency. Arts Council England funds some independent museums directly as National Portfolio Organisations, as well as supporting many projects run by them through its grants programmes and strategic funds. It also funds Sector Support Organisations and Museum</p><p>Development organisations which can also assist independent museums. Independent museums are eligible for other public funding such as capital grants from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and support for permanent and temporary exhibitions through the Museums and Galleries tax relief introduced in 2017. It is a matter for individual sports organisations themselves whether they wish to participate in the Framework and sign up to the Declaration. We welcome that both the All England Lawn Tennis Club and The Rugby League World Cup 2021 have done so.
