unstar this property answer text <p>The Department’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) welcomes funding applications for research into any aspect of human health, including the development of cheaper vaccines. These applications are subject to peer review and judged in open competition, with awards being made on the basis of the importance of the topic to patients and health and care services, value for money and scientific quality. In all disease areas, the amount of NIHR funding depends on the volume and quality of scientific activity.</p><p> </p><p>The NIHR and the Medical Research Council both have a wide portfolio of research activity in vaccines which cover clinical trials for new vaccines, new technologies, ways of improving uptake and cost effectiveness.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Since February 2019, the Taskforce has met on two further occasions on the following subjects:</p><p> </p><p>25 April 2019 on the menopause.</p><p>4 July 2019 on menstrual health.</p><p> </p><p>The draft Terms of Reference were revised after the Taskforce met on 31 January 2019, focusing on unplanned pregnancy. All of these meetings were held, and the draft Terms of Reference revised, when the Taskforce was co-chaired by the then Parliamentary Under Secretary for Mental Health, Inequalities and Suicide Prevention (Jackie Doyle-Price MP).</p><p> </p><p>The Taskforce has not worked directly with the campaign against painful hysteroscopies or other campaign groups. The Taskforce is co-chaired by the President the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.</p><p> </p><p>There are currently no plans to include outpatient hysteroscopy as an agenda item for a future meeting of the Women’s Health Taskforce; it is, of course, possible that the issue will be discussed under a different agenda item in the future.</p><p> </p>

unstar this property answer text <p>NHS England does not mandate service specifications for wheelchair services, but as part of its wheelchair improvement programme has developed a model service specification in collaboration with partners (and tested with clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and wheelchair providers) which sets out the ambition for excellent wheelchair services and the specific elements CCGs need to consider when commissioning services. unstar this property answer text <p>NHS Wheelchair Services are responsible for the provision of wheelchairs, including electric wheelchairs, and are commissioned through clinical commissioning groups. Determination of the entitlement an individual has in respect of wheelchairs, or any other mobility equipment, is decided following assessment by the local NHS Wheelchair Service.
