star this property answer text <p>In the financial year 2018/19, BEIS was allocated £185.1m of EU Exit funding. Of this total allocation £57.3m has been budgeted for staff within BEIS. These roles have now been filled and, complemented by existing staff within BEIS, will be working across all areas related to EU Exit, including deal and no deal scenarios. As negotiations continue, BEIS will continue to reassess its requirements with detailed planning for 19/20 continuing.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>I am pleased that excellent progress is being made on Made Smarter, the Government’s national industrial digitalisation programme.</p><p> </p><p>The Made Smarter Commission, co-chaired by my rt. hon. Friend the Secretary of State and Juergen Maier brings together manufacturing leaders from across the sector to agree how UK manufacturing can benefit from the development and adoption of digital technology.</p><p> </p><p>The £20m North West pilot will support up to 3,000 manufacturing SMEs to adopt and exploit digital technology. There is a considerable level of interest from SMEs in the North West as well as from other regions. We will work with other regions to share the learning of the North West pilot and consider how the programme could be rolled out.</p><p> </p><p>At Autumn Budget, we announced £121m funding for the Made Smarter Digital Manufacturing Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, designed to transform the sector’s productivity. Beneficiaries of this programme, which is subject to a competitive process, will be announced in the coming months.</p>

star this property answer text <p>Consumers with first generation smart (SMETS1) meters are still able to switch supplier, and are in a better position to do so thanks to accurate information on their energy usage. If the new supplier is not able to operate the meter in 'smart' mode, the meter will continue to record energy consumption accurately and can be used in 'traditional' mode.</p><p> </p><p>Second generation smart (SMETS2) meters will be fully compatible between energy providers, therefore allowing all consumers to retain smart services when they switch energy suppliers.</p><p> </p><p>The Data and Communications Company is developing a solution to move SMETS1 meters onto the national communications infrastructure to enable consumers to retain their smart services upon switching. star this property answer text <p>No such assessment has been made.</p><p> </p><p>Smart metering costs are paid by suppliers, who pass the net costs or savings through to customers over the life of the Smart Metering Programme. Consumers will continue to pay for their metering service as they do now for their traditional meters, through their energy bills.</p><p> </p><p>Smart meters are expected to take £300 million off household energy bills in 2020 alone. Overall, the roll-out is set to deliver significant net benefits to consumers, estimated at £5.7 billion over the lifetime of the Programme.</p><p> </p> more like this

There is no specific guidance to Official Receivers in relation to the separation of non-married couples with shared assets and shared debts, though aspects of this are covered in other guidance such as in relation to the handling of cases where a property is jointly-owned by a non-married couple.
