The UK supports Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international organisations where statehood is not a prerequisite and where Taiwan can make a valuable contribution, such as global health. In line with our longstanding unofficial relationship, we have a wide range of exchanges with Taiwan, including on global health issues.
more like this

The longstanding policy of not commenting on matters relating to the intelligence agencies has been agreed to be appropriate in this case because the changes to the pedestrian access have been made for reasons of building security.

We cannot comment further on these reasons other than to say that the Security Service has taken all appropriate and reasonable steps to ensure the safety of pedestrians and any potential liability for negligence would be the same as with any public organisation. The Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament provides the means for the scrutiny of the policies, expenditure, administration and operations of the intelligence agencies on behalf of Parliament.
more like this

The Strategy sets out the Government's high level thinking on future technologies and trends, many of which are subject to uncertainty. As such it would have been too early to conduct a meaningful equality impact assessment at this stage.

However, in the preparation of the Strategy the Department consulted with a wide range of stakeholders including those representing disabled people and wheelchair users. This included a written Call for Evidence and a roundtable with the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee.
more like this

Following consultation with Historic England, it was agreed that free standing signage was the best option in those spaces, to reduce physical impact on the Palace.

The patinated brass finish used in the frame was chosen to blend in with the timber joinery and reference the Victorian brass fittings found throughout the Palace. The colours used for the signage differ slightly from the British Standards; the colours were chosen to minimise the visual impact on interiors, whilst remaining legible to direct people in the case of an emergency.
more like this
