	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/04/2023 answer text <p>Through the consultation on Shaping Future Support: The Health and Disability Green Paper, we received over 4,500 written responses and held over 40 consultation events with disabled people, people with health conditions and their representatives. These included both virtual and face-to-face events, with events in Scotland, Wales and every region of England, to make sure we were hearing a variety of views on the Green Paper.</p><p> </p><p>Many charities and organisations helped us to run events by organising for their users to attend and speak to us about the areas of the Green Paper that were most important to them. We are continually working closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including users of the service, to gain insight and feedback from different perspectives to help shape the design of our services. The programme has conducted some initial tests of a case management model that indicated that claimant contact is important in building trust and transparency. Accordingly, if new evidence or information becomes available after an appeal has been lodged, it is right that decisions are reviewed and claimants put in the best position where they can choose either to continue with their appeal, or have the decision revised. At the same time claimants have, and have always had, a right of appeal against the revised decision, and to have their payments fully backdated if successful at appeal. The Department is contacting claimants who may be affected and we may ask for further information about the help they needed. We want to ensure we have all the relevant evidence when making a decision and get the right outcome for claimants when reviewing their claim, as part of the administrative exercise.</p><p>We recognise that the Department comes into contact with some claimants who are potentially very vulnerable. That is why claimants with a severe mental health or behavioural condition, learning disability, developmental disorder or cognitive problems, who may have difficulty engaging with the process, and with no support network in place, can be provided with additional support during the process if they need it.</p><p>This support can include arranging to speak to a representative, carer or other support worker at a convenient time and allowing additional time to provide further information. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/02/2020 answer text <p>Management information at 5 January 2020 shows that so far we have cleared 720,000 cases under the MH decision and 820,000 cases under the RJ decision.</p><p> </p><p>Continuous monitoring of the outcomes of the administrative exercise has shown which cases are most likely to benefit from the exercise. We remain on track to complete the exercise in 2020.</p><p> </p><p>Claimants unlikely to benefit will be contacted in writing and provided with the information they need to decide whether they might be affected. However, we may contact claimants, their representatives or carers for more information, so that we can make a decision on their claim.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>I can confirm awards will not be reduced as part of this exercise.
