This case has highlighted the importance of tailoring support according to the individual needs of victims and, in response, we will be embedding a more needs-based approach in our services.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">In October 2017, Government announced an ambitious package of reforms to the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) – our system for identifying and supporting victims of modern slavery. We have already made significant progress in delivering this complex reform programme and we will continue to drive improvements to the services available to ensure they are meeting the recovery needs of victims.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Government is committed to stamping out modern slavery and providing victims with the support they need to rebuild their lives.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">We are always working to improve our understanding of the complex needs of victims of modern slavery and to improve the support available.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">In October 2017, Government announced an ambitious package of reforms to the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) – our system for identifying and supporting victims of modern slavery. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/01/2023 answer text <p>The Single Competent Authority (SCA) and the Immigration Enforcement Competent Authority (IECA) are currently recruiting a large number of new decision makers across the UK to increase capacity for NRM decision-making and reduce decision making timescales<ins class="ministerial">. </ins><del class="ministerial">; this brings additional resource pressures initially (for training and upskilling) but will have substantial long-term benefits for decision making timescales.</del></p><p>The National Referral Mechanism (NRM) does not publish payments made to victims of modern slavery and this does not currently form part of the published NRM statistics.</p><p>All victims who consent to receiving support will receive this via the Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract (MSVCC) in England and Wales which is delivered by The Salvation Army. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/02/2018 answer text <p>The UK Government is committed to driving action to eradicate modern slavery internationally, as well as in the UK. <br>The Government is developing strong partnerships with countries that have many victims trafficked into the UK, as well as working with countries that have a high prevalence of slavery to support their efforts to tackle it. The Government is also advocating for better multilateral engagement and international coordination to drive action on modern slavery globally. In September 2017 the Prime Minister launched a Call to Action at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) to encourage countries to drive action to tackle modern slavery - 41 countries have now endorsed the Call to Action. The Prime Minister also announced at UNGA that the UK would double its aid budget for tackling modern slavery to £150m. The legislation was designed to harness pressure from civil society and we are pleased that NGOs are using company statements to hold businesses to account. Two independent repository websites have been set up to collate these statements. The Government is not involved in running or funding either website. Both websites make different estimates of the total number of statements published so far. The latest estimates can be accessed online at <a href="http://www.modernslaveryregistry.org" target="_blank">http://www.modernslaveryregistry.org</a> and <a href="https://tiscreport.org" target="_blank">https://tiscreport.org</a></p><p>The Government is committed to working with businesses and civil society to drive greater compliance and higher quality reporting. The Home Secretary has established the ‘Business Against Slavery Forum’ with CEOs of 13 large multi-national corporations, which aims to accelerate progress in tackling modern slavery, by sharing best practice and offering support to smaller businesses.
