unstar this property answer text <p>The UK’s position on settlements is clear: they are illegal under international law and undermine the prospect of a two-state solution.</p><p>Under the existing UK-Israel trade agreement, goods originating from illegal Israeli settlements are not entitled to tariff and trade preferences under either the agreement between the UK and Israel, <ins class="ministerial">n</ins>or the agreement between the UK and the Palestinian <ins class="ministerial">Authority</ins><del class="ministerial"> Liberation Organization</del>.</p><p><del class="ministerial">I can confirm that t</del><ins class="ministerial">T</ins>his will not change in the upgraded FTA with Israel. unstar this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The UK position and ongoing support for the Falkland Islanders' right of self-determination remains unchanged. As the Foreign Secretary made clear on his recent visit to the Falkland Islands and in his meeting with Argentine Foreign Minister Mondino at the G20 in February, as long as the Islanders wish to remain part of the UK family, there can be no discussions on sovereignty. At their meeting on 17 January, the Foreign Secretary and President Milei discussed how to enhance UK-Argentina relations through greater cooperation on areas of mutual interest including trade, education, culture and enhancing people to people links. On the Falkland Islands, the Foreign Secretary and President Milei said they would agree to disagree, and do so politely.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Government is discussing with our partners how to use immobilised assets to support Ukraine. G7 Leaders have tasked Ministries to continue working on these issues and to report back ahead of the Leaders' Summit in June. We will update the House as this develops, noting it would not be appropriate to offer a running commentary on those discussions.</ins></p>

unstar this property answer text <p>We are in the third year of the current <ins class="ministerial">six</ins><del class="ministerial">6</del>-year £5.2 billion <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/flood-and-coastal-erosion-risk-management-an-investment-plan-for-2021-to-2027" target="_blank">Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) investment programme</a>. This investment programme will better protect hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses from flooding and coastal erosion. At the end of March 2023, approximately £1.5 billion of this funding has been invested with 60,000 properties better protected from flooding and coastal erosion. This was delivered through over 200 completed schemes.</p><p> </p><p>Below is a table which shows properties better protected by Local Authority boundary between April 2021 and March 2023. The figures include Environment Agency, Local Authority, and Internal Drainage Board flood and coastal risk management projects that fall within that boundary. We are unable to provide a breakdown of the type of flood defences for each authority. However, the Environment Agency’s <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/programme-of-flood-and-coastal-erosion-risk-management-schemes" target="_blank">Programme of flood and coastal erosion risk management</a> shows completed FCERM schemes within the previous <ins class="ministerial">six</ins><del class="ministerial">6</del>-year investment programme (2015-2021), and the first year of the current capital investment programme (2021-2027) which are now better protecting homes.</p><p> </p><p>Each year the Environment Agency also produces a <a href="https://defra-my.sharepoint.com/personal/ben_warren_defra_gov_uk/Documents/Desktop/PQs/2023" target="_blank">summary</a> of flood and coastal erosion risk management work carried out by risk management authorities in England. This is required under Section 18 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. When the current FCERM investment programme ends, after March 2027, the Environment Agency will publish a report with a breakdown of spending, similar to the report published in <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/flood-and-coastal-erosion-risk-management-capital-investment-programme-headline-benefits/flood-and-coastal-erosion-risk-management-assessment-of-benefit-of-the-2015-to-2021-capital-investment-programme#:~:text=Between%202015%20and%202021%20government,flood%20and%20coastal%20erosion%20risk." target="_blank">2022</a> after the 2015-2021 investment programme.</p><p> </p><p>Please see the table attached. Notes for the table:</p><p> </p><ul><li>The figures are based on the best available information.</li><li>Flood and coastal schemes built in one Local Authority boundary may benefit under another Local Authority Boundary.</li><li>Projects that cross multiple boundaries have been grouped together under the ‘cross-boundary projects’ row.</li><li>The properties were better protected between April 2021 and March 2023. The April 2023 to March 2024 figures have not yet been finalised.</li></ul>

unstar this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The best department to approach for information on charging is the Ministry of Justice.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">After further conversation with MOJ colleagues, please see amended response to your written question;</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The number of people charged with a criminal offence will be data held by the Police, the number of asylum seekers within that total will be a subset. It’s not information we hold.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">All asylum claimants are subject to mandatory security checks to confirm their identity and to link it to their biometric details for the purpose of immigration, security and criminality checks. These checks are critical to the delivery of a safe and secure immigration system.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">If the asylum claimant is aged 16 years or over, their fingerprints will be checked against those fingerprints held on the police biometric database, IDENT1. An asylum decision-maker will be able to confirm the presence of a criminal offence charge. However, this information is not held in a reportable format and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost as it would require a manual trawl of case records to retrieve. </ins></p><p> </p>

Use of Cruiser SB or a similar product in any subsequent years would require the submission of a further application. Orientation information is a matter for their licenced scheme operator.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office holds no records on the numbers of Seasonal Workers who have registered with a GP, as this is not an immigration related metric.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">In the event that a scheme operator for the Seasonal Worker route became unlicensed for any reason, the Home Office will consider each case on its own merits and tailor our response accordingly.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office does not hold data on the average number of weeks of work provided to workers on the horticultural seasonal worker visa scheme during (a) 2022 and (b) 2023. Since 12 April 2023, Seasonal Workers must receive a minimum of 32 hour’s pay for each week of their stay in the UK, regardless of whether work is available.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Home Office has no plans to issue guidance to people with Seasonal Worker visas as to how to register with a GP. unstar this property answer text <p>We will publish the Economic Impact Assessment of the legislative measures required to enable the Border Target Operating Model<del class="ministerial"> (BTOM)</del> in due course and no later than the Statutory Instruments<del class="ministerial"> (Sis)</del> are laid. This will contain summary data tables and they will include the requested information.</p><p><del class="ministerial">Under the new BTOM, consignments can undergo various types of checks depending on the type of product and the level of risk presented. Low risk consignments will not undergo documentary, ID or physical checks. All medium risk products of animal origin (POAO) will undergo documentary checks with an estimated cost to business of £10-£25 per check. 1% of medium risk consignments of POAO will undergo physical and ID checks, with an estimated cost to business of £250-£750 per check. The check rates on high risk consignments of POAO are unchanged. For plant and plant products, the cost of documentary checks is expected to be around £5 per check for high and medium risk goods and the cost of risk-based inspections is expected to be £20-£80 per check. Low risk plant and plant products are not charged for checks. Plans to amend fees for documentary checks will occur under future SIs for the BTOM.</del></p>

unstar this property answer text <p>We will publish the Economic Impact Assessment of the legislative measures required to enable the Border Target Operating Model<del class="ministerial"> (BTOM)</del> in due course and no later than the Statutory Instruments<del class="ministerial"> (Sis)</del> are laid. This will contain summary data tables and they will include the requested information.</p><p><del class="ministerial">Under the new BTOM, consignments can undergo various types of checks depending on the type of product and the level of risk presented. Low risk consignments will not undergo documentary, ID or physical checks. All medium risk products of animal origin (POAO) will undergo documentary checks with an estimated cost to business of £10-£25 per check. 1% of medium risk consignments of POAO will undergo physical and ID checks, with an estimated cost to business of £250-£750 per check. The check rates on high risk consignments of POAO are unchanged. For plant and plant products, the cost of documentary checks is expected to be around £5 per check for high and medium risk goods and the cost of risk-based inspections is expected to be £20-£80 per check. Low risk plant and plant products are not charged for checks. Plans to amend fees for documentary checks will occur under future SIs for the BTOM.</del></p>
