unstar this property answer text <p>All Government Departments have clear objectives to increase workforce diversity, including disabled people.<del class="ministerial"> I</del> <ins class="ministerial">We </ins>have been working with officials across Whitehall to assess the proportion of disabled people employed by Government, and to identify ways to improve those numbers.</p><br /><p>As at 31 March 2015, 8.9% of Civil Service employees declared their disability status, up from 7.6% in 2010 and 8.8% in 2014.</p><br /><p>With reference to commissioning, successful bidders for contracts in excess of 12 months are required to submit annual Diversity &amp; Equality Delivery Plans, workforce monitoring data and Contractor and any Sub-contractor’s policy/policies and procedures for preventing unlawful discrimination and promoting equality of opportunity in respect of a range of groups, including people with a disability. <del class="ministerial">We will continue to seek opportunities to encourage, and offer support to, employers to employ more disabled people.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">This Government is committed to being an exemplar employer and will continue to support employers and disabled people to create opportinities and increase disability emplyment.</ins></p>

unstar this property answer text <p>The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) engages with Openreach on a regular basis to discuss their digital infrastructure plans. DSIT have not had discussions with Openreach about the potential use of former telephone exchange buildings that are vacant and derelict. Exiting exchanges is a long-term endeavour and most exits are expected to happen in early 2030s. Five exchanges are planned to close as part of a trial in the 2024-2025 period. DIST officials remain in contact with Openreach and will aim to discuss how exchange buildings will be repurposed.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The department has committed to publishing a detailed and ambitious implementation strategy later this year which will detail the steps we are taking to improve children’s social care. As the strategy is developed, the department will consider the recommendations of the Independent Review of Children’s Social Care carefully, including cost implications and where legislation might be required.</p><p>The department is committed to keeping the views and interests of those with lived experience at the heart of our work as we develop the implementation strategy. The new National Implementation Board will include people with their own experience of the care system, alongside those with experience of leading transformational change.</p> more like this
