star this property answer text <p>In 2013-14, 240 local authorities in Great Britain spent less than 100% of their total Government contribution in DHP, of which 5 were in Wales. The Rent Officer Services set the rates in line with the current DWP policy for uprating Local Housing Allowance and with reference to evidence of achieved rents in the local area.</p><p> </p><p>In 2014/15, 56 out of the 192 Shared Accommodation Rates have been increased by 4% in those areas where there is the greatest divergence between LHA rates and local rents.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>People with Parkinson’s and other progressive conditions receive general financial provision towards costs, including heating, through Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP).</p><p> </p><p>Additional help is available to those entitled to income-related benefits - such as Employment and Support Allowance - through the support component and additional disability premiums.</p><p> </p><p>Help is also available through Cold Weather Payments, and this winter, over 2 million low income households will receive a bill rebate through the Warm Home Discount Scheme.</p><p> </p><p>Winter Fuel Payments also provide assurance to older people, who may suffer the worst impacts of a progressive condition, so that they can keep warm during the winter months.</p> more like this
