	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/06/2014 answer text <p>Sport England does not allocate its budget on a geographical basis. It is investing £1 billion in grassroots sport in England between 2012-2017. About half of this, £493 million, is being invested in national governing of bodies of sport which work in all regions of England. Sport England also awards grants directly to sports clubs and projects through a range of specific funds according to the strength of applications received and evidence of local need. Sport England works proactively to identify areas which require greater investment and links with local stakeholders to make this happen wherever possible.</p><p>While it is not possible to identify a budget for a particular area per se, it is possible to give the total value of National Lottery awards made by Sport England directly to sports clubs, projects and local authorities in a given area.</p><p>Since 2010, projects in Barnsley have been awarded £700,988 and, for South Yorkshire, the figure is £8,755,741.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Maidstone and The Weald answering member printed Mrs Helen Grant question first answered 24/06/2014 14:16:19 answering member 4018 label Biography information for Mrs Helen Grant

	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, pursuant to the contribution made by the Prime Minister of 18 June 2014, Official Report, column 1116W, what extra resource his Department will provide to deal with extended eligibility for claims made under the (a) support for tourism and (b) flood relief fund for sport schemes.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/06/2014 answer text <p>The Government's tourism package on flood support, announced on 1 March 2014, was not grant based. The package included a tactical recovery marketing programme designed to encourage UK residents to take short breaks and trips leading up to Easter, and also funded business support workshops and drop in clinics for tourism and tourism related businesses. Destination Management Organisations could choose to take the opportunity to run the workshops on behalf of VisitEngland, providing the advice for those businesses affected by flooding in the winter floods. There are no plans to extend the package of flood support.</p><p> </p><p>Sport England has had a number of funds in place to help clubs upgrade and improve their facilities and pitches that date back before April 2013. Clubs affected by flooding from April 2013 would be very welcome to apply to these funds to get more people playing sport.
