star this property answer text <p>We have interpreted your question to refer to the death, for any reason, of receiving or paying parent who is named on a case managed by the Child Support Agency (CSA) or the Child Maintenance Service (CMS).</p><p> </p><p>Data is only available for the 2003 CSA scheme, and for the CMS since December 2015. <del class="ministerial">IIt</del> <ins class="ministerial">It </ins>is standard practice for the Department to be informed of a death and for this to be recorded on departmental systems. It is only possible to identify a death of a case participant where the Department has a National Insurance number for the parent involved and has been informed of the death. Where the Department is informed of a death only the date is recorded as standard practice and as such any link beyond involvement in a case cannot be established.</p><p> </p><p>For 2003 scheme cases managed by the CSA there were 71,200 deaths informed to DWP between 2003 and 31st December 2017.</p><p> </p><p>For cases managed by the CMS there were 3,500 deaths informed to DWP between 1st December 2015 and 31st December 2017.</p><p> </p><p>Numbers have been rounded to the nearest one hundred.</p>

I have asked the Authority to reply<del class="ministerial">.</del> <ins class="ministerial">and I will place the response in the Library of both houses.</ins></p><p> </p><p><em><strong>Letter from John Pullinger CB, National Statistician, to The Lord Pearson of Rannoch, dated 15 June 2018.</strong></em></p><p>Dear Lord Pearson,</p><p> </p><p>As National Statistician and Chief Executive of the UK Statistics Authority, I am replying to your Parliamentary Question asking about the number of suicides since 2000 of separated fathers compared to those of separated mothers <strong>(HL8615)</strong>.</p><p>The Office for National Statistics (ONS) publishes suicide rates for the UK, constituent countries, regions and local authorities in England and Wales in an annual bulletin[1].</p><p>The information we hold on deaths is limited to what is recorded on the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death by a doctor, provided to the registrar by the informant at the time of death registration, or recorded by a coroner following their inquest into the cause and circumstances of the death. We can provide the number of suicides per year by legal marital status, but we have no available information on whether the deceased was (a) separated at the time of death, that is, living apart from their partner; or (b) was a father or mother.</p><p> </p><p>Table 1 attached provides the numbers and crude rates per 100,00 persons of deaths due to suicide, by sex, for each year between 2000 and 2016 in England and Wales. The rates are broken down by marital status recorded at death. We have asked the Migration Advisory Committee for advice on the UK’s reliance on EU labour and they will help us shape immigration policy going forward.</ins></p><p><del class="ministerial">The EU Settlement Scheme will be a simple and streamlined application process, drawing on existing government data and processes to minimise the administrative burden on applicants. We are building an application process which is fit for purpose, and we are engaging with stakeholders who represent EU citizens in the UK to discuss and understand their needs.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">We will be providing further detail on the scheme in due course.</del></p> more like this

In their response, Ukraine noted that it was implementing the 2013-20 Strategy for the Protection and Integration of the Roma National Minority into Ukrainian Society, including efforts to improve the documentation of the Roma population and school attendance of Roma children. The UK continues to engage with the Ukrainian authorities and non-governmental organisations on this issue.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government is concerned about the inequalities experienced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, particularly in health and education. The Race Disparity Audit identified that Roma, Gypsy and Traveller communities are amongst the most disadvantaged groups in British society and we are committed to do more to make sure nobody in this country is excluded or left behind.</p><p>The United Kingdom has a close working relationship with United Nations bodies and a standing invitation to all Special Rapporteurs, and is committed to upholding the rule of law and the rules-based international system. The Government welcomed the Special Rapporteur’s visit, and will provide further information to the Special Rapporteur as necessary. We will respond to the Special Rapporteur’s country visit findings, conclusions and recommendations when these are presented to the Human Rights Council.</p> more like this

The British Business Bank is also conducting research to identify ways to overcome the specific barriers faced by female-led businesses in accessing venture capital. In collaboration with the Enterprise Research Centre they are gathering data from over 50 VC firms, and are now commissioning behavioural research in this area.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>This Government is committed to ensuring that all businesses and business owners have the right support. There are now approximately 1.2 million women-led small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.</p><p>The Government’s assessment is that funding, both equity and debt, is widely available to support entrepreneurs regardless of their gender. The report Small Business Finance Markets 2017/18 published by the British Business Bank notes that the value of equity investment (up 79%), asset finance (up 12%) and peer-to-peer business lending (up 51%) used by smaller businesses all showed significant growth in 2017.</p><p>There are 38 Growth Hubs across England providing support to help businesses start-up and grow. The Business Support Helpline also provides information and guidance to people across England - 45% of users in 2015/16 were women.</p><p>The Government-backed British Business Bank’s Start-Up Loans provide funding and support to new entrepreneurs, of which 39% have been issued to women. star this property answer text <p>Dental contracts and agreements are agreed with dental contract holders by NHS England. Contracts are held by the part of NHS England (the area team) responsible for that region. Each contract has a set value and agreed level of dental activity to be delivered for that value per year. Activity is measured in metrics known as units of dental activity.</p><p> </p><p>Contracts are let by tender under public procurement regulations. The current system was established in 2006. Where a contract existed prior to 2006, it was transferred into the new system and values set under a national formula used to transfer all then existing contracts from the pre-2006 system to the current system.</p> more like this
