star this property answer text <p>Voter ID is part of a body of work this Government is delivering to strengthen the integrity of our electoral system and give the public confidence that our elections are secure and fit for the 21st century.</p><p>As was the case for the 2018 pilots, the 2019 pilot costs will be confirmed when they are known, which will be after the pilot authorities have completed their work. Funding for the additional cost of piloting voter ID will be provided to each local authority by the Cabinet Office.</p> more like this

We will be looking carefully at the evaluations to help inform our next steps and shape how the final policy will look when it is introduced.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In line with the 2018 pilot evaluation, the 2019 pilots have been evaluated by both the Electoral Commission and the Cabinet Office. The evaluations show that the overwhelming majority of people cast their vote without a problem. As in 2018, the data collected does not indicate that any demographic group was consistently adversely impacted by the models across the pilot authorities.</p> more like this

We will continue building on this experience and working with the pilot authorities who have tested voter ID, the Electoral Commission, and the Cabinet Office pilot and reference group to develop a process for national implementation.</p> more like this
