	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2020 answer text <p>Around 900 people have travelled from the UK to engage with the conflict in Syria and Iraq, against the advice of the Foreign Office. Of these, approximately 20% have been killed in the conflict and around 40% have returned to the UK.</p><p>We can confirm that in the last 12 months there have been a small number of British children who have left Syria and returned to the UK via third countries.</p><p>The Government’s priority is the safety and security of the people who live here.
