In 2018, the number of Exceptional Talent Visas granted was within the previous quota.</p><p> </p><p>The increase in quota ensures that we have sufficient headroom in the Exceptional Talent route to continue to attract highly skilled people from across the globe; and is a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to ensuring that the UK remains a world-leader in the digital technology, science, arts and the creative sectors.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As at 10th April 2019, a total of 100 appeals relating specifically to the company Home Energy &amp; Lifestyle Management Ltd (HELMS) have been referred to my rt. hon. Friend the Secretary of State. One of these cases has been finalised (and is not subject to further appeal). The Secretary of State has issued Intention Notices in respect of four further HELMS cases. These are subject to representations from interested parties prior to a final decision. Good progress is being made to complete a large number of complex cases and we expect further Intention Notices to be issued shortly.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department conducted individual analysis of the impact of potential changes to border processes in Member State ports, on traffic at Dover, Holyhead, Grimsby &amp; Immingham, Killingholme, Hull and Portsmouth, as well as the Channel Tunnel terminal. These locations were prioritised following a high-level assessment of international road freight volumes. Advice has been shared with relevant stakeholders to inform contingency planning. This builds on the regular discussions which officials have had with a range of ports across the country.</p> more like this
