	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/02/2015 answer text <p>There is no plan to investigate the basis upon which this prosecution was brought.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The prosecution was brought following an investigation by North Yorkshire Police into the alleged commission of a wildlife crime. The two defendants were originally charged by the police to appear in Court on 5 September 2014. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) subsequently undertook a review of the case, in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, and determined, firstly, that there was a realistic prospect of conviction and, secondly, that it was in the public interest to prosecute.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>As the allegations were denied, the case was listed for trial before York Magistrates’ Court on 21 January 2015. On the day of trial, two key prosecution witnesses who produced video evidence of the offence were unavailable to attend court. The CPS had previously made an application to adjourn and reschedule the trial. Due to an administrative failing this application was made very close to the trial date and it was refused by the court. The trial then took place in the absence of these two witnesses and without their evidence being heard. In respect of ministerial meetings, in October 2017 the then Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice met representatives of Carillion to discuss justice-related contracts during which the company’s financial position was discussed among other issues.</p><p>As a routine, departments publish quarterly details of Ministers’ meetings with external organisations on GOV.UK, including those with representatives from companies such as Carillion. These proposals will be subject to a ballot by the workforce between 30 January and 16 February, and are a commercial matter for the company and its employees.</p><p> </p><p>The Government remains in contact with Tata Group at all levels, and we remain committed to securing the long term future of Port Talbot. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/12/2015 answer text The situation in Sudan remains of concern, especially in the conflict areas of Darfur and the Two Areas. In this light, it was disappointing that African Union-mediated peace talks in Addis Ababa were suspended on 23 November without the parties reaching an agreement. We continue to urge both the Government of Sudan and opposition to return to discussions on a ceasefire, allow full humanitarian access and engage in inclusive, comprehensive and transparent political dialogue. In South Sudan, progress has been mixed on implementation of the compromise peace agreement signed in August. We welcome recent steps including the agreement of the transitional security arrangements and preparations for the return of the first group of the opposition to Juba. However, we remain concerned by delays to the formation of the transitional government of national unity, breaches of the ceasefire in Unity and Upper Nile states, and the continued lack of humanitarian access in many areas.
