star this property answer text <p>I hold regular discussions with Cabinet colleagues, including the Secretary of State for Exiting the EU, and with the Welsh Government to discuss a range of issues, including the impact on Wales of the UK leaving the European Union.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises the importance of the aerospace sector to Wales, and I recently visited the impressive facilities at both Airbus and Raytheon. Over 23,000 people in Wales are employed by in excess of 160 companies with state-of-the-art facilities which manufacture, supply, maintain, repair and overhaul, civil and military aircraft from around the world.</p><p> </p><p>I will continue to work with other Government departments, my expert panel of stakeholders, the Welsh Government, and the National Assembly for Wales, to support the Welsh economy and promote a prosperous Wales within a strong United Kingdom.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As befits their importance to the Welsh economy, my ministerial team and I regularly meet with farmers’ unions and representatives of rural communities to discuss a number of issues, including the impact of the UK leaving the European Union.</p><p> </p><p>Most recently, the UK Government Minister for Wales, Guto Bebb MP, along with the Minister for Farming, George Eustice MP, met with the Farmers Union of Wales on 13 November and the National Farmers Union Cymru on 15 November.</p><p> </p><p>Both the FUW and NFU Cymru, along with the Country Land and Business Association, are members of my Expert Panel. The panel meets regularly, and last met on 6 November.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We remain focused on ensuring our smooth and orderly withdrawal from the EU with a deal as soon as possible. However, as a responsible Government we have been preparing to minimise any disruption in the event of a no-deal.</p><p>I regularly meet with the Farmers’ Union of Wales, NFU Cymru and the CLA Cymru to discuss EU Exit and the impact on the agriculture sector.</p><p>We have made it clear that we will support vulnerable sectors, such as our sheep farmers, through government intervention in the event of a ‘no-deal’, should this be necessary. We will be monitoring the sectors which may be exposed to short-term difficulties as a result of EU Exit closely to identify early signs of market disturbance allowing us to react swiftly.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Under the terms of the financial settlement, signed off by both UK and EU Commission negotiators in a draft Withdrawal Agreement and welcomed by the EU-27 at March European Council, the UK will continue to participate in all EU programmes funded by the 2014-20 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Agricultural funding will, therefore, be unaffected by the UK’s withdrawal from the EU for the remainder of this MFF.</p><p> </p><p>Beyond 2020, this Government has also pledged to continue to commit the same cash total in funds for farm support until the end of the parliament, expected in 2022. This is a greater level of security and certainty for farmers and landowners than anywhere else in the EU, where funding has only been agreed up until 2020.</p> more like this
