	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/03/2015 answer text <p>Last month, General Synod supported the idea of the Church Commissioners “giving consideration to the basis on which they might, for a limited period, release additional funds in order to support changes that will equip the Church of England more effectively for sustainable mission and ministry over the coming generations”.</p><p>The Commissioners’ own Board of Governors has also expressed its preparedness, following extensive consultation, to release additional time limited funds provided this could be done in an effective and disciplined manner. Robust processes are already in place to govern the distribution of existing discretionary funding streams and the same will be true of any additional funding.</p><p>The specific funding criteria have not yet been worked out but I can assure my hon. Friend that any additional money will only be released for focused, evidence-based projects which are rooted in dioceses’ strategies and will be advised by carefully worked through calculations by external actuaries as to the impact on the Commissioners’ ability to make distributions to the Church in perpetuity.</p> answering member constituency Banbury answering member printed Sir Tony Baldry question first answered 19/03/2015 12:29:09 answering member 93 label Biography information for Sir Tony Baldry

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/04/2019 answer text <p>The traditions of individuals and congregations in the Church of England is not always easily identifiable, and it is often very difficult to label individuals and congregations accordingly. However, the Church is aware of its diversity of traditions and is committed to the growth of the whole Church. A key factor in all senior appointments is the energy candidates bring to evangelism and encouraging confident Christian witness, and of course, different candidates will step into this space in different ways.</p><p>The Church’s Strategic Learning Community and Senior Leadership Development programmes have been created to bring together clergy from across the church, from all traditions and backgrounds. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/06/2019 answer text <p>Thy Kingdom Come is an ecumenical prayer movement started by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 2017, which has grown into an annual global movement of prayer. It is supported by His Holiness the Pope and in 2018 over 65 different denominations and traditions held events across 114 countries. Major beacon events took place in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. More information can be found here: <a href="https://www.thykingdomcome.global/" target="_blank">https://www.thykingdomcome.global/</a></p><p>Events take the form of large public gatherings, community prayer walks, meals and picnics in churches or parks. They bring together people from different traditions and denominations across all parts of the local community.</p><p>In Northern Ireland, both Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland Archbishops of Armagh issued a joint statement to support events taking place in St Anne’s Cathedral Belfast, St Macartin’s Cathedral Enniskillen, and St Mark’s Church Armagh. Their message can be read here: <a href="https://www.ireland.anglican.org/news/8866/joint-message-from-archbishop-eamon" target="_blank">https://www.ireland.anglican.org/news/8866/joint-message-from-archbishop-eamon</a></p><p>In County Londonderry, there were three events which saw churches of different denominations gather for prayer.
