The UK Government has a duty to move forward on this important issue so that victims and survivors are able to get the progress they have been seeking for such a long time. The Government wants to consult soon, with the aim of building support and confidence in the new legacy institutions from across the community. Both are keen that political representation on the Policing Board should be restored as soon as possible to ensure proper governance and accountability. I have also raised this issue with party leaders. We are exploring with them, the Department of Justice and others what can be done in the absence of the Executive.
