However, as set out in the response to the Gender Recognition Act consultation, there are no plans to make changes to the 2004 Act.</p><p>Following a considerable amount of consultation with the public and representative organisations, the Government decided that the current provisions within the GRA allow for those that wish to legally change their sex to do so. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2021 answer text <p>We are committed to fulfilling our obligations under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW); our interim report to the CEDAW Committee is due to be published and available online in the coming weeks. This report will set out the steps taken, in different parts of the UK, to implement four of the recommendations identified in 2019 by the Committee in its concluding observations.</p><p>The substantive provisions of CEDAW are already largely reflected in existing domestic legislation, such as the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998. The UK has strong human rights protections within a comprehensive and well-established constitutional and legal system. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/09/2019 answer text <p>Conversion therapy is wrong and we are committed to ending these practices.</p><p>We have committed to considering all legislative and non-legislative options to prohibit promoting, offering or conducting these practices whether they are occurring in a medical, commercial or faith-based context.</p><p>The LGBT Advisory Panel are looking at conversion therapy to help us identify the most effective actions to end it. We are conducting detailed research into the experiences of those that have undergone conversion therapy and how it has affected them.</p><p>This is a complex issue that we will be approaching sensitively. Where a Parliamentary assistant or researcher is engaged under a contract of employment, apprenticeship or contract personally to do work, the Member of Parliament, as their employer, is subject to the requirements of the Equality Act 2010, and therefore must not unlawfully discriminate in any aspect of recruitment covered by the Act.
