	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2019 answer text <p>We work collaboratively with other countries to tackle climate change in a variety of international fora.</p><p> </p><p>We play a leading role in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change process, which brings together almost 200 countries to discuss a global approach to tackling climate change. This process led to 195 countries coming together to secure the historic Paris Agreement in 2015, and a common rulebook for its implementation being agreed last year in Poland. This rulebook will drive genuine climate action globally, while allowing for flexibility and support for those countries that need it.</p><p> </p><p>As part of this process, we have offered to host the next important 2020 summit, COP26, demonstrating our commitment to ambitious international climate action.</p><p> </p><p>Later this year, the UN Secretary General is convening a Climate Summit in New York. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2019 answer text <p>​The UK continues to push for greater international cooperation on climate change.</p><p>Last month at the Katowice COP 24 conference we reached an agreement on the rulebook for Paris Agreement implementation, a crucial step towards international accountability. However, all our assessments conclude that the current level of global ambition is still not enough to meet the Paris goals of just over three years ago. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/10/2018 answer text <p>One hundred and eighty one of the 197 parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) have now ratified the Paris Agreement, and I am proud that the UK is one of them. The UK is fully committed to working with other countries to achieve the Paris Agreement goals including limiting global average temperature increase to well below 2°C and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C. We are actively involved in the UNFCCC negotiations and are fully committed to finalising the rulebook that will underpin the Paris Agreement at COP24 this December. We drive the work of several progressive groups, comprising developed and developing countries, such as the High Ambition Coalition. We are one of the largest contributors of international climate finance, helping developing countries mitigate and adapt to climate change through coalitions and partnerships, and we will spend at least £5.8bn on this between 2016 and 2020. Additionally, we are promoting global alliances to encourage clean growth, such as the Powering Past Coal Alliance, to reduce emissions from the most polluting fuel, which I launched last year, and which now has over 70 members. We are also working to build on the progress made at the UK Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Summit, hosted by the Prime Minister in September 2018, to help the development of the ZEV market around the world and tackle carbon emissions. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Paris COP21 will aim to keep the goal of limiting global temperature rise to below 2 degrees within reach, but is not the end game.
