unstar this property answer text <p>18 financial penalties have been imposed to date on respondent employers for aggravated breaches of employment law under section 16 of the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013. Of these, 12 penalties have been paid and 6 remain unpaid either because the company has been dissolved or efforts by the debt collection agency for recovery of the amounts have been exhausted.</p><p>The total value of penalties imposed is just over £54,400. The total paid is just over £17,700, which was fully paid within 21 days so the 50% discount applied. The value of the 6 unpaid penalties is £19,000.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>79 referrals for arbitration have been submitted to the Pubs Code Adjudicator in the first four months of its operation from 21 July to 21 November 2016. 77 of these were valid or accepted for arbitration, while two were out of scope. Of those 77 referrals, an objection to the conduct of the case by the Adjudicator on the grounds of a conflict of interest has been made in 8 cases. unstar this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">Neither my Rt hon Friend the Secretary of State, nor I have had discussions with charities about the impact of these rules on their work.</del></p><p> </p><p><del class="ministerial">The State aid rules apply to funding given to charities, as they would for any other body, where they are involved in economic activities. The rules are blind as to legal form; rather they are concerned with whether an entity is undertaking economic activities. And equally State aid may be granted legally to charities on the same terms as anyone else if it complies with the rules.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Government is considering the responses to this consultation, and will respond in due course.</ins></p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Of the 183 care sector employers found not to have complied with the National Minimum Wage regulations, 74 met the minimum criteria of the naming scheme and have been named to date. This number will change as cases are considered as part of future naming rounds.</p><p> </p><p>Under the scheme, employers whose arrears do not exceed the £100 threshold are not eligible for naming. In addition, cases opened by HMRC before the revised scheme came into effect on 1 October 2013 are not eligible for naming under the current criteria. unstar this property answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government is committed to providing universal banking access for all consumers and small businesses in the UK - 99% of UK personal bank customers and 95% of small business accounts can withdraw cash and deposit cash and cheques over the counter in any of the UK’s network of 11,600 post offices.</p><p> </p><p>I understand that the Post Office is working to increase public awareness of its banking services. There is a series of ongoing in-branch campaigns, a recent one seeing 7,000 post office branches advertising banking services nationwide. The Post Office is also working in conjunction with UK banks to launch a series of campaigning initiatives through the next year.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The wide ranging independent Review of Modern Employment Practices is considering if the current definitions of employment status need to be updated to reflect new forms of working.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has commissioned new research looking specifically at the gig economy. The research will look at the number of individuals working in the gig economy in the UK and the motivations, experiences and skills of these individuals. The research should be ready in the Summer.</p><p> </p><p>The Review is also considering to what extent the growth in non-standard forms of employment, including self-employment, undermines the reach of policies like the National Living Wage, pension auto-enrolment, sick pay, and holiday pay.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p> more like this
