However, latest figures from the Home Office for all types of terrorism cases (which includes Foreign Terrorist Fighters) show that last year 84 people were tried following charges brought by the CPS for terrorism-related offences, resulting in 76 convictions. unstar this property answer text <p>We are looking to take forward reform of short custodial sentences. We know that offenders serving short sentences often have long offending histories, as well as multiple and complex needs. In cases of the most persistent offenders, the evidence shows they are 36% more likely to re-offend where they have received a short custodial sentence rather than a court order. Community penalties can address underlying behaviour, answer mental health and alcohol or drug misuse needs and provide reparation for the benefit of the wider community.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Sussex Police have sought early investigative advice from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), South East Area, in respect of possible criminal offences. The CPS has received some documentation and had a meeting with the officer in charge of the investigation in February 2018.</p><p> </p><p>The police investigation is still ongoing and CPS will only be in a position to provide advice regarding charging or otherwise once all the papers are received.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>All Government Departments are bound by legal requirements concerning the right to work in the UK and, in addition, the Civil Service Nationality Rules.</p><p> </p><p>Evidence of nationality is checked at the point of recruitment into the Civil Service as part of wider pre-employment checks, but there is no requirement on departments to retain this information beyond the point at which it has served its purpose.</p><p> </p><p>More broadly, the Government will be consulting in due course on how we work with business to ensure that workers in this country have the skills that they need to get a job. There are no proposals to publish lists of the number or proportion of foreign workers.</p> more like this

Leave was granted by the Court in 95% of cases which included some of the most serious violent and sexual offences, including murder, rape and sexual assault.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>I have regular meetings with the Director of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) to discuss a variety of issues. As was the case with previous Administrations, it is not the Government’s policy to provide details of all such meetings.</p><p> </p><p>However, the SFO has assured me that it is actively reviewing material relating to the allegations, although it is not possible for me to go into detail nor is it appropriate for me to speculate on the possibility of a UK investigation. The SFO will consider whether there has been offending within our jurisdiction. The SFO also assists its counterparts overseas when appropriate, and by international convention it would not comment on such matters.</p><p> </p> more like this
