unstar this property answer text <p>The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government considers a wide range of information around individual local authorities in order to form judgements about the scale of challenge they may face.</p><p> </p><p>An at risk local authority is one where it is judged that, in the near future, the local authority may not be able to continue to deliver a consistent quality of service across a range of priorities. unstar this property answer text <p>HM Treasury is working with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to support the financial sustainability of local councils, so they can continue to offer a range of vital services to their local authorities.</p><p> </p><p>Departments have been commissioned to carry out the work necessary for a 3-year Spending Review concluding this Autumn.</p><p> </p><p>However, it will be for the new Government to decide whether the circumstances make it appropriate to conduct a full 3-year Spending Review, or a single year exercise.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Local Government funding in Scotland is devolved to the Scottish Government. It is for the Scottish Government to determine the allocation of funds from within its own budgets.</p><p> </p><p>The Chancellor of the Exchequer has regular discussions with Cabinet colleagues on a range of matters. The Government will consult on the local government finance settlement for 2019/20 in due course. The level of funding for local government in later years will be considered as part of the Spending Review next year.</p><p> </p> more like this
