This will enable simultaneous live streaming of television, video calling, emailing and basic web browsing. Consumers on connections of less than 10Mbps tend to use less data, suggesting that internet usage is constrained below this speed.</p><p> </p><p>Download speed is not the only quality requirement to be included in the proposed Universal Service Obligation (USO) specification. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2018 answer text <p>5G is the latest evolution of mobile communications technologies and currently in its development stages. 5G is likely to be deployed as part of a patchwork of technologies, including those already in use, such as advanced LTE (4G), Wi-Fi, as well as 5G new radio - forming a ‘network of networks’ of a heterogeneous nature.</p><p> </p><p>A considerable amount of research has been carried out on radio waves and we anticipate no negative effects on public health.</p><p> </p><p>The Government expects that existing UK technical standards will be adhered to throughout the development and deployment of 5G products and networks. Security is an important aspect of any new technology, not least digital connectivity.</p><p>The Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy (2016-2021) sets out ambitious policies to protect the UK in cyberspace, backed with £1.9 billion investment. The UK remains fully engaged with our EU counterparts, and we have been discussing the security aspects of the European Electronic Communications Code with member states. This is up from 42% in 2010 (<a href="http://labs.thinkbroadband.com/local/south-west" target="_blank">http://labs.thinkbroadband.com/local/south-west</a>). 17,014 premises have been given superfast coverage so far as a result of this funding. Gainshare funding for the region as a result of take-up which is higher than originally expected is likely to be at least £65 million. This will be available to support further investment.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> The Department does not measure funding at constituency level. A total of £3.37 million has been invested by the Department to support broadband coverage in South Gloucestershire.
