unstar this property answer text <p>NHS England has set out their approach to meeting and improving patient access standards in the ‘Next steps on the NHS Five Year Forward View’<sup>1</sup> and has produced an annex ‘NHS England Funding and Resource 2017-19: supporting Next Steps for the NHS Five Year Forward View’<sup>2</sup> to explain its funding distribution.</p><p> </p><p>The health service continues to face high demand on services caused by the United Kingdom’s ageing population and rapidly advancing technology. unstar this property answer text <p>NHS England does not collect information about the progress made on encouraging clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to require providers to complete the Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) self-assessment tool and apply for accreditation with United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and achieve accreditation within the duration of their contract.</p><p> </p><p>However, Commissioning Services for People with Hearing Loss – a Framework for CCGs, published in July 2016, strongly encourages CCGs to expect providers to have completed the IQIPS self-assessment tool and applied for accreditation with UKAS, and achieve accreditation within the duration of their contract. This is reflected in the model service specification for adults.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Maintaining and improving patient access standards, including the 18-week referral to treatment (RTT) target, is a key objective of the Mandate to NHS England in 2017/18. NHS England has set out their approach to meeting and improving patient access standards in the ‘Next steps on the NHS Five Year Forward View’<sup>1</sup> which was produced in partnership with organisations including NHS Improvement.</p><p> </p><p>The Department uses performance data<sup>2</sup> published on a monthly basis by NHS England to monitor compliance with the referral to treatment standard.
