These include empowering local TYA Cancer Principal Treatment Centres to drive network-wide service improvement in both outcomes and experience and working in close partnership with TYA Designated Hospitals as part of a network. This approach will allow local flexibility to put in place solutions that are tailored to local needs. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/04/2019 answer text <p>The Department has not discussed with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) the prescription of medicinal cannabis oil for patients with cerebral palsy and arthritis.</p><p> </p><p>NICE is the independent expert body that develops authoritative, evidence-based guidance for the National Health Service on whether drugs and other treatments represent a clinically and cost effective use of NHS resources. NICE is developing guidance on the prescribing of cannabis-based medicinal products by October 2019. It will be based on the best available international evidence and will have been produced using NICE’s world-renowned process for delivering such guidance.</p><p> </p><p>Following a public consultation on the draft scope, the guidance will focus on the use of cannabis-based products in the treatment of chronic pain, intractable nausea and vomiting, spasticity and severe treatment-resistant epilepsy, conditions where the evidence is currently most advanced. The consultation will close on 7 September and welcomes input from individuals and organisations. Further information about the consultation and how to participate can be found at the following link:</p><p>https://legacyscreening.phe.org.uk/suddencardiacdeath</p><p>The UK NSC last reviewed screening for SCD in young people, ages 12-39, in 2015 and it was recommended that screening should not be offered.</p><p>The UK NSC is an independent committee that advises Ministers and the National Health Service in all four UK countries on all aspects of screening. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/04/2019 answer text <p>Registering with and access to primary medical care services is the same for all patients, whether they are gypsies, travellers, or homeless people. People do not need to provide proof of address to register with a general practice (GP). NHS England is working with a range of community groups to redesign the patient registration leaflet so that people are aware of this when registering. The free NHS 111 service can assist anyone who has faced difficulty finding a GP or accessing other services in their local area.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is aware of difficulties some individuals have faced when trying to register with a GP and is taking steps to address shortcomings with individual practices, working in partnership with the voluntary sector.</p><p> </p><p>The Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Health and Wellbeing Alliance is a partnership arrangement with the aim to facilitate integrated working between the voluntary and statutory sectors, to promote equality and reduce health inequalities. It receives £1.2 million for core work from the Department, with each member receiving funding of up to £60,000. It is for individual local authorities to decide their spending priorities based on an assessment of local need, including the need for sexual health services taking account of their statutory duties. However, national roll out of a new system to share this data is expected this month, meaning the relevant data for the remaining practices in Bexley should be available from May 2019.</p><p> </p><p>The time between booking an appointment with a general practice and having the appointment, in days, for the practices where data is currently collected in Bexley CCG is presented in the attached table for the last available published date which was February 2019. A 12 month average from March 2018 - February 2019 has also been presented along with a comparison to the average across all appointments in England. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/06/2019 answer text <p>To raise awareness of cancer symptoms and encourage people with symptoms to go to their doctor without delay, the Department of Health and Social Care, alongside Public Health England, have run 15 national Be Clear on Cancer awareness campaigns since 2010/11.</p><p> </p><p>A Be Clear on Cancer ‘Blood in pee’ campaign ran across England from July to September 2018, aiming to improve early diagnosis of bladder and kidney cancer. Public Health England launched a new campaign, ‘Cervical Screening Saves Lives’, on 5 March to promote uptake of cervical screening.</p><p> </p><p>As recommended by the UK National Screening Committee and the independent Cancer Taskforce, we are modernising our world-renowned cancer screening programmes by introducing Faecal Immunochemical Testing into the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme as soon as possible and human papillomavirus as the primary test in the NHS Cervical Screening Programme by 2020.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is establishing Rapid Diagnostic Centres across the country to upgrade and bring together the latest diagnostic equipment and expertise. The centres build on the 10 models piloted through the Accelerate, Coordinate and Evaluate programme, which have focussed on diagnosing cancers where patients often present with non-specific symptoms and may go to their general practitioner many times before being sent for appropriate tests.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is extending lung health checks, targeting clinical commissioning groups with the lowest survival rates.
