unstar this property answer text <p> </p><p>The Department for Education has cut its annual energy bill by £1.4m since 2009-10 through reduced energy consumption, and has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 38% in the same period.</p><p>Emission reductions from energy use have largely been achieved through low and no cost energy efficiency measures, estate rationalisation (by using space more efficiently and co-locating with other organisations), and by operating our remaining buildings even more efficiently.</p><p>The Department's monthly gas and electricity consumption and Friend, the Secretary of State for Education, appointed Professor Julian Le Grand as Chair of a panel undertaking a review of Doncaster Children's Services, as announced in a letter dated 25 March 2013 to the then Mayor of Doncaster, Peter Davies. The letter is published on the Department's website: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/doncaster-childrens-care-direction-for-improvement-march-2013" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/doncaster-childrens-care-direction-for-improvement-march-2013</a>. Professor Le Grand submitted his Report to Ministers in May 2013. Professor Le Grand was subsequently asked by my hon. Friend, the Minister for Children and Families, to chair another panel to consider ways forward for Birmingham's Children's Social Care Services, as announced in a letter to the leader of Birmingham Council, Albert Bore, on 29 November 2013. The letter is also published on the Department's website: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/edward-timpson-writes-to-birmingham-city-council" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/edward-timpson-writes-to-birmingham-city-council</a>. The Report of this work was submitted to Ministers in February 2014.</p><p> </p><p>Professor Le Grand received no remuneration for his work on either Review. The Department for Education met reasonable travel, accommodation and other expenses for Professor Le Grand which were wholly, exclusively and necessarily incurred in relation to this work in accordance with the Department's policies.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>Taking action to support pollinators is a key part of my priorities to improve the natural environment and grow the rural economy.</p><p><br>Bees and other insect pollinators are vital to the diversity of our environment. They play an essential role in contributing to our £100bn food industry and are worth £400m to the economy. They face many threats and some species are in decline.</p><p>This is why we have published the National Pollinator Strategy on 4th November, a 10 year plan to build solid foundations to bring about the best possible conditions for pollinators to flourish.</p><p><br>The Government is committed to taking action to support pollinators across all types of land across our country, enhancing the response to pest and disease risks, and to improving our evidence base.</p><p> </p> more like this

The food and drink manufacturing sector – largest in the UK - exported nearly £19bn last year, including chocolates to Belgium, pork to China and chillies to India.</p><p> </p><p>Supporting and encouraging businesses to take the opportunities that exporting presents is one of my Department’s top priorities. Officials are working with the industry and UKTI to develop a new Action Plan.</p><p> </p> more like this
