unstar this property answer text
We remain committed to the introduction of a national funding formula after the next spending review, when we can give certainty to schools about how the formula will affect them over a number of years. In the meantime, our allocation of an extra £390 million to the least fairly-funded local authorities in the country will make a real difference to those local authorities, such as Warrington, that gain from the proposals.

According to our indicative figures, Warrington will gain an additional £500,000 in 2015-16.
more like this

unstar this property answer text
On 17 July, I announced that the Department for Education will allocate £390 million to the least fairly funded local areas in 2015-16. This is the biggest step towards fairer schools funding in a decade. It puts us in a much better position to implement a national funding formula when the time is right – after the next spending review, when there are multi-year public spending plans, and the Department can give greater certainty to schools about how the formula will affect them.
more like this

unstar this property answer text
There is a delay in funding as schools are generally funded for the number of pupils they had based on the previous year’s school census. This provides schools with greater stability and predictability in planning their budgets. However, we are aware of the difficulties that some schools experiencing an influx of pupils after the start of an academic year can face. This is why local authorities can use a mobility factor in their local funding formula to give additional funding to schools that have a large number of pupils entering at non-standard entry times. We have also given local authorities the option of setting up a growth fund, which can support schools taking on more pupils because of the need for extra places in the area.
more like this
