This includes the introduction of our Youth Employment Programme, during which young people will be referred to the most appropriate support. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/06/2021 answer text <p>An initial assessment of a sample of the first 20,000 claimants who started a Kickstart job placement from the commencement of the scheme up to 6th May 2021, found that 51% were male and 49% were female. The Department for Work and Pensions will be monitoring and evaluating the Kickstart scheme throughout its implementation, and will continue to evaluate the longer term outcomes for Kickstart participants after they have completed their six-month job placements. This will include an examination of the demographic make-up of participants, including gender.</p><p> </p><p>Although care is taken when processing and analysing Kickstart applications, referrals and starts, the data collected might be subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large-scale recording system which has been developed quickly. The management information presented here has not been subjected to the usual standard of quality assurance associated with official statistics, but is provided in the interests of transparency. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/10/2022 answer text <p>The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) operates to service standards of completing 80% of Basic check applications within two days, 80% of Standard check applications within 14 days, and 80% of Enhanced check applications within 14 days.</p><p>Year to date performance up to August 2022 is 85.1% for Basic checks, 96% for Standard checks, and 78.4% for Enhanced checks. These attainments apply to applications across all employment sectors, including the care sector.</p><p>DBS Adult First is a service provided by the DBS that can be used in cases where, exceptionally, and in accordance with the terms of Department of Health guidance, a person is permitted to start work with adults before a DBS Certificate has been obtained. This applies to adult services such as care homes, domiciliary care agencies and adult placement schemes where DBS Certificates are required by law.</p><p>Depending on the result from the DBS Adult First, a person can be permitted to start work, under supervision, with vulnerable adults before a DBS certificate has been obtained. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/05/2022 answer text <p>Young people with a disability or health condition on Universal Credit who wished to take up the opportunity of a Kickstart job were able to discuss the roles they were interested in and if required, reasonable adjustments could be put into place to enable them to take up a Kickstart job. In October 2021, the decision was taken to extend the delivery of the Kickstart Scheme for an additional three months, to 31 March 2022, so that many more young people at risk of long-term unemployment (including those with disabilities) could benefit from the opportunities of the scheme. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/07/2023 answer text <p>As a principal part of the service design the Department uses data from HM Revenue &amp; Customs (HMRC) and its own benefits data to assess 91% of Paying Parents earned income and benefit status, which are key parts of the maintenance calculation.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, the Child Maintenance service allows both paying and receiving parents to request a change to the assessment if they believe that the paying parent’s income has changed by more than 25% compared to the most recent figures provided by HMRC. This can be done online, over the telephone or in writing. Customer communications highlight the obligations of parents to provide information and the consequences of failure to comply or misrepresentation.</p><p> </p><p>Where a paying parent receives unearned income which can be legally considered in assessing child maintenance either parent can request a variation to the normal maintenance calculation. Cases involving suspected misrepresentation or fraudulent behaviour can be looked into by the Financial Investigation Unit (FIU).
