We are in close touch with the UN about their plans for the ceasefire monitoring mechanism, and are ready to assist where necessary. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2019 answer text <p>Using Her Majesty's Treasury EU Exit funding and a process of internal reprioritisation, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has created approximately 550 new roles in the UK and overseas to strengthen our diplomatic network in the UK and across Europe so that it is better able to represent and promote British interests and engage with our European partners in support of a successful EU Exit.</p><p>We do not want or expect a no deal outcome. However, a responsible government should prepare for all potential outcomes. UK and French ministers have spoken about the issue of Channel crossings on a number of occasions, and senior level engagement is ongoing to develop a joint approach to the issue. The Home Secretary is due to meet his French counterpart in the coming weeks. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/01/2019 answer text <p>The British Government is committed to tackling unmanaged migration through concerted interventions at every stage of the migrant journey to address root causes, tackle criminality and trafficking, increase awareness of the risks of undertaking perilous journeys, and strengthen borders and returns processes.</p><p>I met Moroccan Deputy Foreign Minister, Mounia Boucetta, during the Intergovernmental Conference to endorse the Global Compact for Migration in Marrakech in December. On 16 January, the UN Security Council, including the US, voted unanimously to back the UK-led Security Council Resolution 2452, which will establish a six month UN mission to monitor the Hodeidah ceasefire. This is an important step towards peace, building on the momentum of the unanimously adopted UK-led Security Council Resolution 2451 as well as the UN peace talks in Stockholm last month. This will complement UK diplomatic support for the UN, including through UK-led Security Council Resolutions 2451 and 2452, which build on the momentum generated by UN peace talks in Stockholm in December. We continue to discuss with the UN what further support the UK could provide as UN planning develops.
