Public legal education is vital to help people to understand the law, their rights, and their responsibilities, and I am proud to work closely with the legal and third sector as part of my Public Legal Education Committee to support and promote this work.</p><p> </p><p>The Attorney General’s Office has also recently supported Justice Week this year, delivered digitally at the start of March. This includes guidance, videos, webinars, and the Export Support Service.</p><p> </p><p>The 2025 UK Border strategy sets out the Government’s vision for the UK border to be the most effective in the world. It aims to make it as straightforward as possible for businesses to comply with customs requirements, including export processes, whilst keeping the UK safe and protecting our fiscal interests.</p><p> </p><p>We are embracing innovation and technology. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2022 answer text <p>At March Budget 2020, the Government announced the introduction of a zero rate of VAT on certain e-publications, including e-books, to support literacy and reading in all its forms and make it clear that e-books, e-newspapers, e-magazines, and academic e-journals are entitled to the same VAT treatment as their physical counterparts.</p><p> </p><p>The extension of the zero rate of VAT to e-publications was introduced to provide consistency of approach between certain physical and digital publications, to support reading and literacy in all its forms. The UK launched our own Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) at the beginning of 2021, covering the power, industrial and aviation sectors. It raises funds to be invested across the Government’s spending priorities, including our public services as well as our Net Zero ambitions. The UK ETS Authority is currently consulting on developing the UK ETS, including aligning the total cap on emissions with net zero.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is also supporting Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), although these are not ringfenced funds from the ETS. At the Spending Review, the Government committed £180m to accelerate the commercialisation of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plants and to set up a UK clearing house for SAF. The Government also extended its long-term commitment to the aerospace sector, guaranteeing funding for the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) to 2031, co-investing with industry in world-class research and development. The ATI will receive a record £685m of funding over the next 3 years, an increase of more than 50%. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/03/2021 answer text <p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Complex Casework Units (CCUs) undertake some of the most complex and serious casework handled by the CPS. A recent report published by Her Majesty’s Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate (HMCSPI) found that CCUs are staffed by highly dedicated, skilled and professional teams who deliver high quality casework, often in demanding circumstances.</p><p> </p><p>CCUs are overseen through a structure of experienced legal managers including Unit Heads, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutors and Chief Crown Prosecutors. The Report identified evidence of effective and regular meetings and conversations between lawyers and managers about casework. Proposals include removing the requirement for couples to evidence either the other spouse’s conduct (often called “fault”) or the couple’s separation, in order to reduce conflict within the divorce process and help families make arrangements for the future. The consultation is running for 12 weeks and closes on 10 December 2018.
