We strongly support the coalition airstrikes against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and al-Qaeda affiliates in Syria by the US, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Jordan. As the Prime Minister, my right hon. Friend the Member for Witney (Mr Cameron), has said, the Government will return to Parliament for a separate decision if we propose to take military action against ISIL in Syria. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/11/2014 answer text <p>We are deeply concerned at reports of government aerial bombardments targeting civilian farms and agricultural production in South Kordofan and frequently raise our concerns about the ongoing conflict in the Two Areas directly with the Government of Sudan and through multilateral forums such as the UN Security Council discussions. In respect of South Sudan the UK has been at the forefront of an effective EU arms embargo aimed at stopping the proliferation of arms across the region. The UK continues to work with partners to enforce this embargo. We encouraged the authorities to conduct full investigations into any of those accused of crimes and ensure that individuals are given a right of appeal against citizenship deprivation decisions. The UK provides technical assistance to Bahrain and share best practice on the criminal justice system. These programmes aim to help with implementing the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry and UN Universal Periodic Review. We are aware of other reports claiming UNAMID did gain access on 4 November but we have not seen evidence to support these claims. The UK is not at this time pushing for an inquiry into UNAMID’s actions on 4 November. We note that UNAMID was granted access to Tabit on 9 November, but are concerned by reports that their investigations took place under the close observation of Sudanese security officials. The British Government’s engagement with Al-Wefaq, as with all political societies in Bahrain, is focused on encouraging constructive engagement in political dialogue. It is disappointing that the opposition societies boycotted the elections on 22 November, but we are encouraged by the 51.5 per cent turnout, and welcome the participation of a broad range of candidates.</p><p>The Foreign and Commonwealth Office halted engagement with all political societies, independent candidates and former members of parliament during the election period.
