	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2024 answer text <p>Where non-consensual intimate images are posted online via user-to-user services, then the providers who operate these services should have the technical ability to remove these images.</p><p> </p><p>The Online Safety Act received Royal Assent on 26 October 2023. This legislation will give online service providers new duties to implement systems and processes to tackle illegal content on their services and take this content down, including illegal intimate image abuse content.</p><p> </p><p>The Act also updates the law, to make sure that offences criminalising intimate image abuse are fit for the digital age. This may then be a matter for law enforcement and/or regulatory bodies such as the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.</p><p> </p><p>The Online Safety Act also puts duties on user-to-user and search service providers to tackle illegal third-party content accessed on or via their service. In addition, there are wider risk owning teams in at least 15 other Government Departments, who work on AI risks in their remits. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/05/2024 answer text <p>We are implementing the mandatory rollout of the ATRS in phases, with the current, first phase focusing on the 16 largest ministerial departments, plus HMRC.</p><p> </p><p>The Department of Science, Innovation and Technology and the Central Digital and Data Office are working with these departments to map their in-scope algorithmic tools and draft their first ATRS records accordingly. These departments have now all reviewed a draft version of the scope and exemptions policy. We expect to circulate a finalised version of the policy by the end of May.</p><p> </p><p>Regarding timelines for the wider rollout, expect these Phase One departments to publish their first ATRS records by the end of July. Departments finding no tools in scope will be required to submit a nil return. This includes cyberbullying and online abuse and harassment, which has been designated as ‘priority content that is harmful to children’. Companies must assess the risk to children from this kind of content and implement proportionate and age-appropriate protections.</p><p> </p><p>All in-scope companies must tackle illegal content, including illegal abuse and harassment.
